Default Nitrous Tune vs. N/A Tune

I have heard that people generally dyno low n/a on a nitrous tune than on an n/a tune. Is there a way to run both tunes on the car, but have the nitrous tune kick in when the nitrous switch is flipped?

the difference between a NX and a NA tune is the timing being retarded for the spray....for the smaller shots and for the DD crowd you can run the timing tuner...it is an electronic control box that will retsrd the timing upon nitrous activation.

when you say small shot, do you mean perhaps 150 or less?

A dry hit, big or small will have both tunes in one, and neither will effect the other.

I run a Timing tuner that retards the timing 6* only when I arm the nitrous and the WOT switch is tripped. The only draw back of N/A performanced I have noticed is the loss of 2MPH in my trap speed. The only thing I can figure is that the colder plugs and smaller gap are affecting it, I also have a rich N/A AFR( 11.2) I just got HPT so hoping I can get my N/A trap back up.
Just my 2 cents.

yeah you can use the intake air temp sensor to switch between both. you just need to have it tuned that way. or buy a tuner program and just reflash for na or nos.

I'm using the Timing Tuner with a wet NX 100 shot. I've only spray it once. I am very happy with it, on motor-10.79@123.62 on the 100 shot-10.13@132.57 and thats on a 1/2 second delay. This is in very good air.

Yes the wet can be done with external timing retard boxes and resistance trickers, but the dry can be all done in the same tune with no additions, truly two tunes in one.

Gap .035

Plugs NGK TR6

150 wet Jetted for 950 PSI and 60 PSI fuel pressure

This is all on a mail order tune that is not right for my current combo, AFR N/A is in the low 11's. Just got HP Tuners so I'm hoping I can get everything straightened out and lean it out to the high 12's.

not sure why you lost MPH other than being very rich...I am running TR6's gapped at .035 also and saw no difference between the TR6's and the TR-55's.

I am running a mildly agressive NA tune (13.0 A/F) and pull 3-4* of timing with an external ignition box for my NX runs.

I didnt think I should loose that much MPH either. I have a lot of kinks I need to get worked out of this tune though.

Do your self a favor, get a wide band and fuel pressure gauge if your going to play around with nitrous .

Spend a little extra money on a wide band that is a/f settable and get rid of the fpss . It will turn off the nitrous if the a/f goes above a certain level .

I run a custom Nx efi 2 stage 150/150 , 62/28-62/22 ,,a nice kick *** n/a tune ,, i pull "0" timing but i run a stand alone 3 gallon fuel cell with torco 116 nos fuel .

Im running 21 degrees with the 408 on and off the bottle and have never seen knock retard with TR6's @ .032

I drive the car everyday to and from work and get an adverage of 17 mpg in the city and 24ish on the highway .

I can spray about 45-50 lbs of nitrous on 2 gallons of race gas with this setup
running 60 psi fuel pressure and 1100 psi nitrous pressure , 11.7 a/f .

500 rwhp all day on 93 octain and it steps up to 650 and 800 rwhp with the click of 2 switch's
