Default Bottle refilling

So I go down to the getto to this place called F-body central and they said I have to put my bottle in the freezer for an hour to fill and they could only put .5 of 6 lbs in the bottle without freezing it? So now I cant find any place to fill my bottle within an hour drive from Sykesville Maryland to fill my bottle. Why do you have to freeze the bottle???????????

Freezing the bottle helps transfer the nitrous from the mother bottle to your's quicker and more efficiently. You only need to do it if they don't have a pump, which I assume they don't.

I use a nitrous pump and it's awesome...It doesn't matter what temp the bottle is..You hook it up and turn the valve, and that bitch is getting filled. And I always squeeze the full 10 or 15 lbs in too...(It's even possible to overfill it if you don't pay attention)

At least you have a local shop. I could wait around a half hour but when it is an hour drive each way I should have saved my money and got a turbo

I fill about 4-5 bottles of nitrous for customers a day at my job. I feel that if they are paying good money for nitrous that might be needed to win them money, i'd better get them the best fill possible. At our nitrous fill station, there is a pump but its NEVER turned on. The best way to fill a bottle is to get it as cold as possible. We do this by having a five gallon bucket full of ice water. A warm to the touch bottle can be ice cold in about 15 minutes, tops.

Pumps are nice but they are a PITA and prone to breakdowns and take a while to have sent off and refurbed.

you could always buy a mother bottle to keep at your place, you also get a better rate for the juice. That is what I plan on doing, it is not hard to fill the bottles up either.

befor i started to fill my own, my loacal shop was less then 10 min from my house. i would freeze the bottle all day long while i was at work, go home, grab the bottle go right to the speed shop and it would stay cold enouph to fill it up.

now i got a pump and bottles at my house, so i fill my own, but i still use the old school way, its faster if i have the time. i can fit 2 bottles in the freezer and 2-3 in the fridge, i put them in in the am, after work or what ever fill em up. its faster then pumping. however without time for freezing i will use the pump, but i have 14 10 pound bottles at my house for the race car, i race weekends only so i know i have time to fill, and if my vett runs out, i just grab one of the other 14 lol

How much are you saving filling you own bottles. Down here in orlando its $2.69 a lb but in NY its $5 and im moving back soon and i think thats just way to much. I would be interested in getting a filling station if it would be worth it.

if you picked up a 75 pound bottle, you wouldnt want the wait.
think about it, a 10 pound bottle weighs 25 pounds a 75 pounder is about 200 pounds!! you would have to mount it to the roof, and put straps to the roll bar. lol
