Is the T56 in the CTS-V the same as the one
in the C5 Vettes, 6spd F bodies, GTO...etc...etc...etc...
i'm assuming the gearing might be different.. but as far as clutch and flywheel replacements.. would a clutch and flywheel for one of the above mentioned work for my V? Or do I have to get one specific to the V?

The caddy uses the new version T56 made by Tremec
EDIT: To finish answering. I am pretty sure you could get away with either vette or Fbody components. I havent seen a cutaway of the car so I dont know if it uses a torque tube like the vette since its has IRS or if it just botls to the motor with a bellhousing and off you go.

BTW they are NOT interchangable!

The shifter in the V mounts to the floor, too so there are only like 2 options for aftermarket shifters. Both of which cost around $400 Just another difference.
