Default Cell phone plans Portland area....

Hello again. Since I'll be moving there in a few weeks, I was wondering what cellular service provider you all are using and how the service/coverage has been. I currently have US Cellular (Regional) here and may switch to a national plan with Verizon or someone. I wonder if possible to get a local # for that area while I'm still living here?

Thanks again!

AT&T is now Cingular. I had AT&T and really liked them until they wouldn't transfer my number when I moved here. I am now with T-Mobile and really like them and have not had any trouble. I've heard a lot of complaints lately about dropped calls in this area from people with Verizon.

I have sprint here in Washington and I hate it. There is good service in some places then its gone in others, while my freinds verizon is working just fine everywhere. The worst part is that the damn thing barely has any service at my house and the cell phones are all we got......

AT&T was bought out by Cingular. All I can say is that they SUCK big time. Dropped calls, echoing, just plain **** poor service. It was much much better when it was AT&T. Cingular is a little cheaper than AT&T was, and they do offer roll over minutes but other than that, I can do without the dead zones, dropped calls and other BS.

Don't switch to sprint you will regret it...Sprint has a major echo to it
