cam install
I started my cam install but have a question about lifters when I have 5/16 wooden dowels in the block. I spun the cam in each direction several times and installed the dowels but I just want to make sure that they are held up before I go and yank the old cam out. I put a pushrod back in and the pushrod still goes up and down about 1/4 of an inch with the dowels in place. Are the lifters held up? Also will the 5/16 dowels go in if the lifter are down on the cam? both dowels slid into place but just want to make sure. any help would be great. Thanks

Not a lot of activity on Sunday afternoon. Give it some time and I'm sure one of the nuts-n-bolts guys will help you out. I know I can't do a cam swap, so I'll hire Ellis when the time comes.

well I got the cam in and oil pump off, but I can't get the oil pump gear off the crank. Upgrading to a double row timing chain. Do I need to get a puller or should I beat on it for a while....
