Dyno tune vs mail order tune?
How much better is a dyno tune than a mail order? I really like my tune now, but I was wondering if a dyno tune could pick me up alot more power, than I might try it

I remember reading a post awhile back about Frost's tune. Guy guy got his mail order tune and later went in and got a dyno tune from him. He only gained like 6 hp over his mail order tune.
Pretty impressive and pretty much sold me on Frost.

A dyno tune WILL be better, the more mods the bigger the difference between the two. I had frost mail tune my car for boltons the same time I put longtubes on it, made a huge difference. Had it mail tuned again from him when I did an MS3 cam, injectors and a few other small supporting mods. This is really mean to get the car drivable and somewhat safe. After this one, my car was running running dead rich on the wideband. There's only so much a tuner can do through the mail, unless you have software and can send him logs. On the mail tune my car put down 375(running extremely rich) and 396 after dynotune, not to mention the increase in drivability. I'm not saying don't use frost, because he does great work, and goes the extra mile, it's just that a dynotune with a competant tuner is your best bet

dyno tune plus a follow up street shake down by the tuner can't be beat. the dyno gets very close to real conditions but it can't completely duplicate a real street pull. that's why good tuners will roll the car off the dyno then go log a few street runs to follow up. i've never settled for a mail order tune and never will.

There might be a bit of power in a tune. Tech has some great mail order tuners, but you can't beat tuning on a loaded dyno.
I did an 02 cam only Corvette yesterday that came in making 386rwhp. Finished up making 422 rwhp and picked up about 25 tq throughout the power band.
