Can I put an 01 Silverado 2500HD computer in my car?
Car is a 99 Camaro. It has a 6.0 and 4L60e. I bought the motor and it came with the computer and harness. I had to ditch the harness but wanted to keep the computer. Car was a V6 so I couldn't use that one. Just wondering if I can make this work? Any help is appreciated!!!

That PCM you are speaking of has the blue and green connectors correct?
The 2003 PCM was the last year they used the Blue and Red.
If it is blue and green, There are a few wires that need repinned on the pcm connector to make it work, but it can, but it lacks the 2nd electric fan driver and a few other things.
You are better selling that PCM and getting a 2002 0411 pcm with the 6.0 engine settings to support the 6.0 and you wont have to rewire a thing.

Some people on the HPT forum were telling me that I would have to have it reflashed. Just wondering if I would have to take it to the dealership or can I just do it with HPT? Or could I just do a segment swap?

I'm not worried about this. I have HPT and can tune it out.
Sorry, I corrected the original post. Computer is out of an 01. And it is the red/blue.

I'm confused. I don't understand why it would need to be flashed... did they say to what? If you are running the same engine and trans that came with the computer just delete the usual stuff to make it stand alone and you are fine no matter the chassis. If it had a 4L80E instead of a 4L60E you will need a program that will run the 4L60E transmission otherwise it won't shift properly. A segment swap and the appropriate harness should be all you need to get it running no re-pinning necessary. If you want electric fans you will have to ADD pins but that is a simple different matter.

An 01 PCM from the truck should work fine. They were still Drive by Cable in 01.
Now the 2500 should have come with the 4L80E transmission. You will need to repin the trans connector or get an adapter plug to convert the 60 to the 80.
You will need to make a new transmission crossmember for the 80 trans its longer than the 60. You will also need to do some cutting and stuff to get all the clearances on some tight spots.
You will also need to run 2 more wires for the front VSS signal of the 80E trans.
You will need to get a 99+ FBody Automatic Engine harness as well.
What is the Hardware number on the PCM
You can use the current setup that is in the pcm as well. I just like to have the platform and the pcm match the vehicle.
Depending on the PCM hardware Number I can post up a Stock Fbody file for that Year PCM and you can then send the stock file to HPTuners and they will put in the 4L80E transmission segment for you for no charge.
Do you own HP Tuners or EFI Live or have access to it?
