Default Silverado Ethanol tables help

I was trying to figure out if the Ethanol Tables in my brothers 2007 New body silverado with the 4.8L will become e-85 compatible by turning on the ethanol tables in HP tuners? It seems to be exactly the same as the 5.3 but the 07 year 4.8L's were not flexfuel yet. I emailed HP tuners and the guy responded that he didnt know and that I should post a question? Hopefully someone else has tried this. Thanks, Matt.

You would need to write entire with a flex fuel file and then tune it for the 4.8L

This is knda confusing with your wording here? The truck is completely stock and doesnt need retuned i just want to be able to make it flexfuel like the rest of the newer silverados. If there is a file necessary please post where or how to get it not just that i need something i have never heard of. Thanks.

There are hundreds of tables in a calibration file that we can not see and can not edit. Just because you can flip the switch that says it will enable flex fuel does not mean that all the stuff you can't see is gonna take over. You need to get a flex fuel file and write entire then tune it for the diff engine size.

Then you may find that your injectors are too small and that the rest of the fuel system materials are not made for 85% ethanol

Im pretty sure everything GM has made since the mid 90's is ethanol safe. Guys run e85 in their f-bodies for cryin out loud. I am sure a 2007 truck would be fine and I am pretty sure but not certain that all the fuel parts are the same as a 5.3 truck it was just a different engine installed. This is why I know it cant be too hard for it to become flexfuel if the new gen4 engines or NNBS trucks use an optical sensor for determining ethanol content instead of the older trucks using a sensor that detects lightness of the fuel or something. Either way does anyone that is a tuner have anymore input on what to do or where to get said file? I have HP tunes Pro software but havent messed with it, yet.

If you know so much then you would know that they have not used a fuel composition sensor at all since 06

Thats a nice write up. It needs to be posted so alot more people can read it. I hear about check engine lights coming on when switching back and forth and that will explain why if you do alot of short distance city driving.
