Tips on Dyno tune after installed LTS, ORY and air delete
Would like to get a Dyno tune. I have a 2002 SS auto. Installed TPS LTs,ORY and did a air system delete. No back O2s. I want some tips on what to request at the dyno tune. Its running rich and smells bad. I would like it to shift firmer but not so much it will ruin my transmission. Any thoughts?

Well, a reputable tuner will k.ow exactly what to do. It sounds like you already know what to request. Every car is different and opimions are like ..... well you know. If you want firm but not to firm just ask for it and a good tuner can deliver. As far as the engune part goes it shohld just get a stanard good afr and see what timing it likes tune. Bolt on cars are easy for a decent tuner.

If the tune is totally stock right now, you will need to add to the VE table. You will be able to add a little more timing as well. Disable CAT over temp. Disable rear 02's. Ask that they 1.0 the OLFA (open loop fuel adder) table for operating temps. There is a LOT of reliability put into the stock tune.
Adding to the VE sounds wierd as it smells really bad but your O2's are changing the Long Term Fuel Trims. After they tune said LTFT should be under +/-5% at worst. Adding some timing will help with the smell a little but no cats will ALWAYS have the nose hairy curling smell. It's just a matter how how bad it it.
It is true that a good tuner will know exactly what to do.
Tell them exactly what you want out of the car and they'll get you squared away.

there's more to do that to add a couple percent here and a couple there.
You can change to open loop parameters turn off the DFCO, over cat tempertures, and torque management and the temperature setting so the air would not reach its threshold for activation
Set your PE table so mathematically it will hit your commanded numbers.
then you have to dial in your MAF and VE table to hit those numbers.
I like to start with the VE table while the MAF is turned off. The hold the VE table at different RPM levels from idle to 4000RPM.
Once I like those percentages, I turn the MAF back on and do the same for the MAF after adding the transmission baseline. The transmission will act different with the MAF on and off. That's why I do it with the MAF on.
( another day we can talk speed density)
Then I check and marry the VE and the MAF together to make sure the logging data is scaling properly.
Then move to WOT and determine your WOT AFR, then how much spark you can tolerate with it. Yes , get your fuel right first.
there's a ton more to do, but that's the basics on a stock to bolt on configuration.
