Hp Tuners electric Fan issue
I searched and tried what others have done for their settings yhat have had this problem with dual electric fans, I can control them both, in VCM controls but for some reason every time I start the motor, the 1st fan runs and stays running, no matter what temp. I know its probably something wrong I put in the fields that control the fan just not figuring it out, Thanks in advance for any help. Here is the copy of the tune.

Subscribed with the same problem! But mine ran 10,000 miles just fine and started staying on all the time when I slowed the idle speed down and tweaked the idle timing a bit. Can't figure out why that would have affected the fans...
Your fan on with AC and AC pressure settings are much higher than mine so that shouldn't be the problem
For what it's worth here is my tune that the fans worked fine with if you want to see it.

Sorry, haven't had a chance to look at it till today, I was told to try downloading a stock tune file for a 99 camaro ls1 and copy those fan settings. So I tried that, no luck, then went on to change every single option in the ac/fans/general tabs, after that I give up. Nothing I do short of going into VCM controls and switching the fan to off stops it from running. So I think my next step is to just hook both fans to the 2nd fan relay and just let them both come on at the same time.

I pulled my fan relay and wow it was totally full of crud and unknown green stuff inside. I'm not sure if this was the cause of the problem yet but you might want to check the basics on yours too.

Yeah I was kind of thinking that with a new build. Looking over the parameters of both our tunes I'm getting more and more confident it's not a computer issue. Have you checked your wiring to see of there is something other than the computer closing the relay? I think an easy test would be to just unplug the computer and turn the key on. Maybe it's an old school ground loop or short in the harness is turning those fans on.

I was thinking that also, but I am still able to shut it off with VCM controls, if there was a short to ground on the trigger wire for the fans they would still run, and wouldn't be able to stop them with the VCM control. From what I have read, this isnt an uncommon problem, just finding the exact fix isnt always cut and dry. Someone on the HP tuners forum said it may be better off to relash my ecu with an 2002 F body dual fans based tune, so probably going to try that next.

^^ That's exactly what my problem was. The relay I pulled that was all full of crud was actually the AC relay and with out it in there the fans operate normally. I have not looked into if it is a relay issue or something down stream in the AC circuit but with the AC out of the equation everything is fine.

it does not have AC and the ac trigger wire to the pcm isnt getting a signal because that wire was removed when the harness was converted to a standalone. And no matter which fan I set the "AC recirc" to, its only fan 1 that runs all the time.
