HP Tuner or my car?
Someone please tell me where the problem lies and if it's even possible.
A friend of mine received his HP Tuner earlier this week, so he says that he can do me a favor and delete some stuff for me and do a little tuning for me. He purchased the tuner for 98 F-body's. Well, we run the car to see where things need to be tweaked and then download my program onto his computer. But when we go to tune something really strange happens. The HP Tuner says that I have a '98 vette! Now I know that is because I am looking at my F-body!!! Also on top of that the VIN number that it read is mine. So is the HP Tuner just messed up? Or is it possible that somehow that my pcm has been flashed to think that it's a vette? PLEASE HELP!!!

send support an e-mail
most likely your hp tuner got shipped out on the first thursday, and for some reason that pcm build shows up as a 1998 vette.
My car did the same thing, i got it fixed easily, send them a e-mail with the bin, log file, and i even included a screenshot of the error message. Got a new file to download, and it works fine now.

1998 had a bunch of different OSs I think, and the
only way they can be sure of "catching them all" to
make valid-for-license is by people reporting the odd
ones that haven't been seen, yet. It's just the old
same old, first-model-year GM blues
