Default "bricked" or "tunerlocked" 0411?

shows a checksum error 6080 when trying to read with HPt

HPt support says sometimes a stock flash with a tech 2 can fix it.
I sure hate to just toss it.

I have no tech 2 nor any access to one. any ideas?

If its locked a tech 2 can not flash it. If its bricked I can recover them about 95% of the time. By the time you pay shipping, returning shipping, and to recover it you can almost just buy another 411 pcm not deal with the hassle. If you send in your pcm to get recovered and we cant recover we dont charge you anything but return shipping if you want the bad pcm sent back. We also keep used 411 pcms in stock if you just wanted to purchase another one.

I'm not sure about your particular situation, but I've had luck doing this in the past. When I've come across a 411 PCM that had a check sum error, I would just re flash the same tune that was previously on it, if I had access to it of course. If it took the tune, I would proceed to read it out and the check sum error would be gone.
Hopefully that helps.

thanks for the insight fellas.

I may have used the wrong word when I said tunerlocked.

I believe this PCM was tuned with a handheld like a diablosport or similar.

I don't have the stock tune.

If anyone is interested in messing with it, lemme know. just pay shipping.

I hate throwing things away that could be useful to someone.

U-Wrench-It salvage yard price of a 411 PCM is about $25. Seems like a wasted effort to ship it anywhere.

If you need help with tuning, I have a buddy in Portland that can help you too.

thats awesome. the self-pull chain here is Pick-N-Pull and they want $50 for any ecu and anything with an 0411 is usually picked asap. v6's and what have you as well.

i sent the computer off for free, just hoping that i'll hear back on what the actual problem was. fun little brain puzzle i guess.

I will definitely take you up on the tuning help once it get the turbo truck together

Just FYI, If you pick up a 0411 at a JY and it's from a V6, you will need to license it before you flash it.

Best bet is to use LSX power tuning guy or make a tech-friend at a GM dealer to reflash via MDI.

so I cannot for the life of me find the guy who I bought this pcm from. I deleted all my PM's about 3 weeks ago and his paypal email is dead. I wanted to offer him a couple bucks for sending me another PCM that I was able to read. Jordan, if you're out there hit me up.
