Default IAC counts always 0? Idle issues after heads/cam

Both of the plugs to the throttle body (Jantzer ported) are hooked up. The counts are dead on at 0 always when I log with atap. The car has trouble finding a nice steady idle sometimes...

you either have a leak somewhere or the throttle blade is open too far

Some versions of AutoTap cannot correctly read the IAC counts. My version is useless for that and aways reads 0.

Try using the "Desired IAC Position" in Autotap.

If your IAC counts were really 0 your idle speed would more than likely be wrong, and your check engine light would have come on. Most likely you just can't read it. I could not read them with Autotap on my 98. HPTuners can read it though. Use IAC g/sec, and see what it says. Does your idle ever hunt at all?

You can always check for binding/carbon buildup on your throttle body too.

Thanks guys. Yes, the idle hunts initially, or if I've been driving at speeds of what seems like 40+ mph.

So will that give the actual IAC or just the target?

Does anyone know if the most recent version of the software fixes this?

It gives the Desired IAC position (at least on Vettes it does) - which is continously updated. Basically the same as IAC count.
