Try Emailing Slowhawk he has tuned Trex for Joe Dieso, if any body can tame that cam thru tuning he can. It may not be free, i hope thats ok?

Sorry i dont have the numbers. But if i did i would give them to you. Also im not sure but most vehicles react a bit different so an exact match might not be exactly right. My friends ZO6 has a T-rex and we ended up having to run an open loop on his car. Not sure if thats common, but its something we ran into. But we did get it to idle nicley at around 800 i tink it was, might have been 1000 though, not 100 percent sure on that.

right.. it definatley wont be an exact match from car to car... but i think it would give me a really good starting point... i just dont wanna have to do hte mail order tune and have my car "down" for 2-3 days....mabey more if its not right the first time... it is my daily driver.. a tune via email would be great.. but i dont think that any tuner does that... do they?

There are none that i know of that do that. Do you have any tuning equipment yourself, you must if your interested in the numbers. I wouls suggest to you to take your car to a dyno shop and rent the dyno for an hour, usually around $100 bucks. Then start your tune. Also make sure you have atleast 42lb injectors and a 255lph fuel pump. Then try and start off running the open loop and 1000 rpm idle. just so you know open loop hurts the gas mileage. But tune it from there. Do just a bit rich cause cars usually lean out during actual driving especially if you have ram-air. If you can and they'll release them, try and call thunder and ask them where a good starting point is. They may not wanna give out the information, but that would be dirty if they wont. After all i know they wanna make moeny, but they did already by selling you the cam, they should atleast set you on the right path to getting it to work properly. The last option is to take it to a tuner. That can get pretty expensive though, around 400-500 bucks sometimes. But any tuner worth his weight will have that thing sounding great and running great. Im not sure what kinda clutch you have, but you said its a daily driver, so i would also suggest getting a twin disk mcleod. They have pretty good driveability and great holding power. TREX does take away some of your driveability, it doesnt like low rpms at all. And one last thing to watch out for is that with an open loop and or TREX, you may get a good amount of black carbon coming out of your tailpipe, it makes a mess out of garage floors or concrete. Even the epoxy coverings give way to it if its left to sit. Well good luck with the cam and tuning.

I actually have a A4 but will be doing the converter here in about 2 weeks... it will be atleast a 4000 stall... maybe 4400... i have never done any "serious" tunning and that is why im kinda afraid to start with nothing on such a radical cam... i just wanna make sure i dont break something trying to get this cam tuned...

Mostly just to be safe blueballs. And also to anticipate some further mods. The fuel pump will be a must for the nitrous he plans on doing. And get the 42lb injectors instead of svo 30's because he'll need the 42's after the heads, thinking ahead will save him money. Plus the 30's run at about a 90-95% duty cycle with full bolt-ons and TREX. You want that down to about 80-85% duty cycle. Fuel rails might not be a bad idea either, but not necessary.

the stock 28lb injectors run out real quick...even bolt on cars can go over 90% duty cycle pretty easily.

At my friends dyno shop we have seen several cars that required took the 42lb injectors. Some on just TREX itself. The duty cycle is too high even for 30lb svo's. Too high of a duty cycle and your car could get leaned out at a bad time and blow. Like i said earlier you want around a 80-85% duty cycle. With TREX 42lb injectors put you right about there. Atleast i know for sure it does on a ZO6. Cant see why an LS1 would be any different. I know that they say stock injectors can do up to like 400-450rwhp. But that is wrong. Anything from about 430+rwhp it would be a good idea to get the 42's. Obviously there are exceptions to this, but i wouldnt take the chance. Not a whole lot more money to be setup right and make sure it'll last.
