Default hptuners help

I just got hptuners and i got the vcm scanner to work but when I tried to get connected to the vcm editor, it wouldnt let me. When it goes to "Preparing VCM" it says failed. It says then at the bottom that "Request High Speed Mode(All Nodes) Timed Out". So I unchecked the high speed and it did the same thing. Then this time it said "Boot Loader Download Request Timed Out". Hope this makes sense. What do I need to do?

I posted this on hptuners forum too. Just seeing what you guys think.

do you have the key turned all the way forward and the a/c and radio off? sometimes it can throw the pcm from getting a serial connection. also I think you might have to have it in neutral to actually flash/read the pcm.

Do you have cig lighter power?

Can you verify the PC-MPVI connection (like, try the "Get
License Info" or something to do with the box and not the
car)?

This happened on my 99 TA, the cig blew a fuse and apparently the ALDL connector is on the same circuit.

yes, and you'd still have credits left over to tune up to 2 more vehicles
