How much will a Z06 MAF lean me up?
Just installed my wideband and around 3k, my A/F ratio starts at 12.4 to 12.5 and goes down when the rpms go up. At one point I saw 11.8 on the A/F gauge.
Any ideas how much it would lean me up? Also if I get MAF tables from a stock Z06...will that effect it?
Thanks,
Jason

Nobody knows as you have mod's
Get a tune tool and tune it properly. The MAF should never lean out the engine, it should deliver your commanded fuel ratio. If it doesn't then your tune is wrong.

Well, if a bigger MAF does not lean you out...then why are some people having problems with pinging when they put one on?
Mods are in my sig. I have tuners so I can tune it.

why do you want/need a Z06 MAF?
you can use PE mode to richen you up if you are maxing out your MAF
USE PE MODE to get your fuel its so freakin easy!!!!!!
don't use VE but the level out the fuel trims @~-4% all around
use ur PE mode and set your AFR to what you want, change the parameters so PE mode comes in sooner (MAP and TPS) and BAM...theres your AFR
and i'm not joking...its that easy

At the big end, something like (459g/sec)/(512g/sec)=.896,
about 10% leaner at the 12kHz upper limit. Point by point,
maybe more or maybe less. This would take you from the
kooky 11.7:1 stock commanded to a 13.1:1 delivered AFR.
Presuming everything else in the system is straight up and
resembling stock. Which is already looking like a bad bet.
And you're not even to the fun part yet.
With airflow jacked lean you are going to get more positive
fuel trims (let alone what the cam and other stuff may have
already put on you) and these will fight the lean-out you're
hoping for. You may get the "seat of the pants" improvement
right after install, and next week you're wondering where it
went, and start looking for the next voodoo mod.
As a rule you're way better off not lying to the computer.
Learn it right, and you get less surprises. Run the Z06 MAF
(or the much cheaper eBay truck MAF minus screen) and a
table that represents, and command the fueling you really
wanted based on realistic air.

I planned on getting a Z06 MAF and putting that MAF table into mine.

one thing to keep in mind... if you can get it for a good price then fine... but don't pay a ton of money for the Z06/LS6 85mm MAF... Your AirLid is 78mm or so... that feeds to an 85mm MAF, which then feeds to a 78mm throttle body... that feeds into a 78mm intake manifold
I've always been a fan of the stock MAF w/screen and all (when doing MAF tunes)
But as I said, if you can get a good deal on the Z06 MAF and have extra cash, then go for it... just don't overpay for it

I see your logic, but in the near future I will be doing a FAST 90/90 combo.
