buy the wideband sensor or the whole kit
I can find wideband sensors that are used with the kits (lc-1) associated with innovative very inexpensively like 50-70 bucks. Can I wire in a wideband say to the egr and use my tuning software or do I have to get the whole controller. I really don't want a gauge in my car so I don't see the need in the whole controller deal unless I have to.

The LSU_ sensors used in the cheap (relatively speaking)
widebands are not very linear, they need to have their
temperature controlled and their output linearized and a
calibration (free air, usually) to be any kind of accurate.
This is where Mr. Black Box earns his salary.
There are DIY controller kits out there, I've looked at them
briefly, if you like to solder they're a possibility and a fair bit
cheaper. Google will turn them up. You're kind of on your own
to get it working right though, not like shiny new in a box.

If you want to tune get an LC1 with the X16 gauge. It is more money but the only way to tune. You aren't going to have a laptop in your car 100% of the time and you need to have a way of spotting issues should one arise while driving around.
Or just get a LM1. This is hard to read while driving. I don't advise it.
You are either in or you are not. Don't do a crappy job cause you don't have the right equipment.

What do you guys think about that? 45 for the bare bones controller if you can solder some..... But I'm liking the digital readout and assembled for 90. It does everything the lc1 does from what I can see right? Heck it uses the same sensor as the lm1.
I'd just one of the outputs and hook to the egr pins on my pcm just like the other controllers I'd say......
edit: oh and it uses free air calibration to smooth things out.

I went ahead and ordered the assembled unit with a display. 90+10 shipping. Got the 02 off of amazon for 44 with free shipping. So 144 for the whole shebang with a gauge. I'm likin the price and according to the website you can set it to mimic the lc1's voltages so I can just wire it into my egr pins on the pcm the same way.

I will post pics of the unit and install once I get it done

Yeah but I haven't had a chance to install yet...........Holidays and son's sick and near divorce and moved yadda yadda yadda excuses
Its actually in my friggen car still in the box. The FIRST time I work a weekend and REMEMBER to bring some tools it will be in.
It looks sweet though.... I hooked it up to a battery to play with it and look at the display and it looks pretty cool. I'm wanting to desolder the actual display and then run some wires to it so I can flush mount it by my foglight button but I'll probably velcro it in short term to make sure it works well.
I promise I will do an install write up
