Default need help with my ws6

ok so i have a 2000 ws6 but the the thing is that every other 2000 ws6 that i see does not have my heads. my heads casting number is 241 but i was told that only 853 came in the f-bodys in that year. im just trying to figure out if i have the factory engine in there or the guy who had before me threw a differnt motor in my car. is there a way to find out.

TAs from 2000 came with either 853 or 241 heads. Anything older only came with 853, anything newer, only 241.

My TA from 2000 came with 241 heads as well. 241s flow better if I recall correctly, so consider yourself lucky.

No,your motor is the right one it is a end of the year model so it got the newer heads which are a lot better.

Where on the head do you find the number? I think my WS6 was built early in 2000, so I probably have 853s.

Head casting Nmbers
`98 = 806 Perimeter bolt valve covers.
`99- early `00 = 853
Late `00 - `04 = 241

The only diffeence in the heads was in the casting process the later heads had a smoother finish inside the ports which may lead to a flow increase but not enough to make a significant difference.
