Default 1997 Firebird Formula Convertible with Ram Air

I ran across this car for sale yesterday. If you are looking for a low production number car with low miles, then this is one to look at. Only 41 of them made in 1997 and 2 in 1998. I called the dealer to see what he would take and he is pretty much stuck on the asking price (which is too high in my opinion). Since I already own a black one and a red one and want to stay married to my wife, I thought I would pass it along. I'd hate to see this car get sold to some kid that is going to tear it up.

Wow!! Thanks for posting. What a find. I just love convertibles and to find a rather rare one with those crazy low miles is just so appealing to me. Yeah, his price is definitely 'retail', no doubt about it. I tell ya, if I was in the market, I would consider going $14,000 if the car was represented accurately and 'near mint'. I know $2,000 isn't much difference but once you get into the upper teens you can get into really sweet LS1 cars. That Formula wasn't exactly cheap in 1997 though. My '96 Formula I bought new was in the low 20's. With this being a 'vert and ram air, I imagine it listed for over $25,000 easily. The seller is well within reason for his asking price, but if he is stuck on it and won't dicker, it may take a little while. On the other hand, I know that if I always dreamed about having this exact car, right down to the color combo, I would buy it. SOLD!! There won't be any others.

The 1997 formula convertibles with ram air were in the low 30's when new. I have the stickers on mine. One was $32,309 and the other was $31,744.

Wow- almost exact same car as mine. Except at some point mine got a black top. I couldn't take the 16" wheels and added some 94 Firehawk wheels

1965GP, it looks gorgeous! How many miles?

A297960, thanks for that pricing info. That was really high priced in comparison with my '96. Basically $10k more. Not many people would lay out $30,000+ for a new F-body back in '97.

My car has 105,000 on it. An older lady (now) ordered it new then traded it on a BMW convertible in '06.

The car has had one re-paint that we pulled everything off for but other than that it is 100% stock.

The "Bandit Run" came thru my hometown over the weekend. Saw 100 plus cars and some very nice TA's. Told a couple of guys from the Illinois and Ohio area about the car, so maybe someone will ****** it up. I wish I would have known about the Bandit Run earlier. It looks like a fun week of cruising with others.
