Default 26.72 mpg Highway 2002 Trans Am

Only mods I have are the Slp loudmouth and Pacesetter Longtubes.

That sounds pretty good to me. That is of course if I keep my foot out it. Driving speeds of 60 mph.

There have been quite a few posts about mileage. Your numbers are not surprising, with many 6 speeds pushing 30 mpg at steady highway speeds. Very impressive.
Let's see, should I get a crappy small foreign car to save a few more mpg or keep my LS1??

I'm getting it consistently, and that was just a touch of city driving to boot, not mention a couple of romps on the way too and back. It gets way better than my truck, which only gets 20 mpg and it's a 4.3 liter at that.

I'm assuming its a Vortec V6? I remain convinced that Chevy actually tried to reduce the MPG on those. Never in my life will I own a 4.3L Vortec powered vehicle again.

Yes, it's the 4.3 Voretc. Even the 5.3 liters get 20 mpg. I should be getting a little better I would think.

That was my experience with my 4.3 as well. I had an '88 1500 4x4 with the 4.3 and got somewhere around 14 HIGHWAY mpg. It was terrible. I remember the first summer gas shot up to 4 bucks a gallon. I about died putting gas into that thing that summer. Of course, I think there was something wrong with the computer and the TH400 trans didn't help much either. I could never figure out why someone would order a 4.3 with a Turbo 400.

4.3=V6 power and V8 gas mileage. Should've had a V8

I got 26 MPG going from Dallas to Galveston. I thought it was pretty good since there was a wreck on 45 where I sat idle for an hour, and had my cruise set at 80 MPH while moving. Love the M6!
