Default Paint Work Before/After

I am pretty satisfied with the paint work I had done. I have had 4 or 5 people tell me, "nice car" in the last 2 days. Strokes my ego a little bit.

No mistaking that it is a hardtop

nice car - nice job on paint.

it does stroke the ego when one gets a compliment.

I was at the DMV first part of July to get my tabs on the Firebird. Had someone stop and ask me if I was willing to sell him my car - and handed out lots of compliments. was cool

OP, looks good! Taking photo's in direct sunlight can make the paint look 'washed out' and greyish. Did you have it wet sanded and buffed or just painted?

Are you going to have another RamAir decal put on?

You guys definitely would put decals back on? While I was trying to decide what color to make the "ram air," my sister had an idea. She is in favor of the all black look... No decals. Can't lie, I kind of like the idea. When there are decals over the lisence plate cover bird, the "formula" on the door, the "Pontiac" in the back, it is just too much.

What is the best way/time to photograph my car? In the garage?

I had an 02 ws6 in 04 and I get WAY more complete now that it is 12+ yrs old =p I have also had people offer to buy my fast one while I was rippin around sac in it, with the roofs absent.

I see what you mean. Is this a better representation of the paint?

I'd rock it without decals for a while and see how you like it after a month or so. If it bothers you that it doesn't have them then go ahead and get some but I think it looks cleaner without the decals.

Is it just me or are there a lot of buffer marks in the paint?

I think it is just the sun playing tricks with the camera?

This. If you want a true representation of the paint, you need to take a photo with a fluorescent lamp under low light. I've owned 3 black vehicles; one of which I painted. I had the paint buffed by my neighbor and regretted it immediately because it spider-webbed terribly when the sunlight was right; but at night, it appeared perfect.

The best photos of black paint are done where you can see a good reflection of something on the paint and away from direct sunlight.

I'm willing to bet the paint looks damn good; but your photos aren't representing the new paint well.

What time of day is best for taking pics of a black car then?

I am a little confused.

Outside at the right time of day is better than in a garage? (Haven't tried either)

I couldn't agree more. They were meant to be body color. It ruins the look when they're different colors from the car color. However, to each his own.
