2009.5 Guys,
Bought the wife a 2009 G8 GT, I have seen talk of 2009.5. How do you know if you have one? What's so different about them? Some of the aftermarket parts say for 08-09 and another part number for 2009.5?

biggest differences ive seen so far are the bluetooth and built into the rear seat cupholder (pops out when you push), dont think there is too much else. oh and the sunroof sucks on the 9.5 with having to hold the rotary **** down instead of just turning it.

couple more items.
Not "Atari style" Oil pressure & battery voltage gauge when compared to a 08.
They added 2 additional cats to the 2009.5 exhaust (total of 4 now) when compared to a 2009 or 08. This knocked a few HP off.

I have the buttons for bluetooth on my '09 but it doesn't work... just operates the in car phone... kinda pissed about that, but oh well. I wanted the bluetooth.
What color is your wife's car? Maybe I've seen it around?

Press the handsfree button on the steering wheel and when it finally gives you the chance to speak a command, say, "Bluetooth." If it says, "Goodbye," and exits, you have a 2009.0.
I have read that for a 2009.5, the last 6th-from-last digit in the VIN should be 3, not 2. IE 3xxxxx. Mine's 23xxxx. 2009.0. (I suppose it's possible that the cutoff point is in the high 2's - I am only repeating what I read on another forum.)

No 2009 G8 GT/GXP has the aux display on the top of the centerstack like the 2008s did. You have to buy the actual Holden part from http://www.sellersautosport.com if you want one. Bonus that it has much nicer looking graphics and an additional readout.

Good info and I'm going to look into getting the gauges, that's one thing i do not like about the G8 only a gas/temp gauge. There is plenty of room for the battery/oil pressure gauge in the cluster..ughh kind of important to be able to monitor oil pressure, not wait until a "light" comes on to tell you probably too late by then.
