Default Big Ups to Patrick-G and Geoff@EPS

Fellow G8'ers,

I would like to give a big thanks to Pat-G and Geoff@EPS for their outstanding customer service!!!!

I went home to MS last week for vacation and while there I decided to drive over to EPS in Baton Rouge to get my G8 tune updated for a some better street drivability manners and mpg. Now Please, don't get me wrong.... Rick "G8-4-Speed" has done a super job tuning my car and has it set on kill for the track, but I was just looking for some better street manners to compliment the track manners!!!!!

Man, I am trully happy with the service Pat/Geoff rendered me!!!!! The 1st change I immediately took notice of was their custom Transmission Program. It's by far the best mod I have done to my G8 to date, as it drives like a totally different car now!!!!!

I gain 2.5+ mpg over the entire 816 mile trip back to NC, all the while averaging the following: 23.7 mpg @ 72 mph with the a/c set to 73* and rolling on 20X10w285, 8.5w245. It used exactly 1.85 tanks of gas. Btw: The car was loaded down to the max with my track (4)tire/wheel combo, luggage, cooler filled with fresh processed beef, (8)- 12 packs of my favorite Nehi Peach and Strawberry soda, ect. Needles to say, I think I was able to fill every crack in the car....lol

As for any additional power..... i'm not sure right now, but i'm planning to take it to the track this weekend to make some passes.... so stay tune for some faster 1/4 mile times to be posted, hopefully.

It was dynoed with the "converter unlocked" and heavy 20x10 w/285tire combo on it:
N/A: 402 rwhp 365 rwtq
Nos: 488 rwhp ......rwtq.....sorry, I haven't viewed the nos trq graph yet.
Geoff is going to email me the graph and I will update this post.

Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend these gentlemen to anyone looking to get the most out of their ride!!!!

Sincerely,

Tony

Glad to hear that your bucking/surging/dying is now completely gone. Thanks for including Geoff and me for your cam selection and driveability tuning. Your G8 is a beast with really good street manners now.

Awesome numbers.

The Pat G tranny calibration has a lot of research into it and it really shows. The first time you pull out of the drive with that cal your face will light up like a lite-brite.

Good to hear tuning for everyday driving matters a lot. Took a few tunes before I got something I could live with.

That said I know dynos are all over the place but whats up with the numbers? I know your car runs at the track just fine but the numbers look low especially the tq, and only gaining 86 off a 100 shot? Hp looks inline with what the smaller cam, converter guys if not a little low there as well. Sorry I'm just curious...

My car was dynoed on a very stingy dyno on heavy wheels 20x10 w/285 tires and with the stall converter un-locked appose to the usual locked converter dyno's you see most people advertise their #'s with. Locked converter dyno's read about 7-10% higher, so that would put my car at about 425-435 wrhp and 390-400ish rwhtq which would avrg out with wheight of my car to be my current N/A 1/4 mile MPH...115-116. Now about the nos.... all jets are not 100% accurate and bottle pressure play a good part in just how much of a shot you get also. My jet may be a 75 shot...i'm going to have to recheck it.

But i'm looking fwd to making some new passes this weekend if the weather permits.

Ouch hate to be the converter thats locked on the dyno... especially since converter manufacturers usually say not to lock them under WOT. But your right I guess thats why I see high dynos by those that are modded less.

Would make sense if its a 75 shot, I think I missed what brand kit you went with? I know with mine I pilled it for 100 and it was a 100hp gain on the nose when we hit it on the dyno. I usually check online on a jet chart since brands are all over the place with their out of the box offerings.

But you and me are alike, who cares what it dynos as long as it runs a number!

You can lock a converter at WOT if it has enough surface area or disks to do to.
I wouldnt count on the stock one to be up to the task.
