The mileage on the car will really hurt the collectibility of the car. I know a guy here in Indiana that has one of the six cars. His is one of the four automatic cars, and his vanity plate used to say "1 of 6". Unfortunately, he had some stupid pinstriping put on the hatch along with the words "purple haze".

IS that this car?

If it is not, it's the other M6.

I tell you the stories about these cars get more and more ridiculous as time progresses.
Since the paint was only available 3 days, only 6 Trans Am WS6's were made in this color, and of the 6 made, 4 were automatic, and 2 were manual, and this is one of the 2 manuals.
First of all.. I've already verified that there were cars being painted in this color for AT LEAST 5 MONTHS. My Formula was built in September, my WS6 was built in January. That's a lot longer than 3 days.
It was discontinued because it didn't sell well enough. Not because of color matching problems.
12 Trans Ams were made this this color... 10 coupes, and 2 ragtops, 6 sticks, and 6 automatics.
It is not the car pictured above on the Pontiac Power website (it has yellow brake calipers), and it's not mine, so there HAS to be more than two sticks.
The car also came with a rare SOTL (single on the left) exhaust system.
And at $15K...
Yeah... okay. Good luck getting that for it! Hey, if someone wants want of these I'll sell mine right now for $14K and it only has 32,000 miles on it.

speaking of the SOTL exhaust. I have a model sitting in my basement of a 98 WS6 that actually has the exhaust like that! I thought it cool that the company actually researched the model year that much.

Definitely not.... in fact I don't expect there to be a "trifecta" much longer, I know the GTO will be gone before summer's over. Kinda hard to haul a drum kit in a GTO.
Hell, if someone wanted to give me $15K for the WS6, I'd be down to just one.. cuz I wouldn't pass up that price!
Hey, the entire clutch system is brand new, it's got almost new tires, and only 32K miles. What a steal, huh?

I looked up the VIN on that Ebay car and it is ASC# 3. It was for sale on cars.com last Aug.
ASC conversion dates on BPM WS6s were in Feb and Mar of '98.
And the '98 WS6 ASC# spreadsheet shows one of those 10 BPM WS6 coupes as being a Formula.

But hey, if someone wanted to give me $15K for the car, I would sell it. I really don't think it's worth that much, but hey.. if someone's willing to pay it, I'll take it.

Zeke I might be interested at some point, let me see how the rest of the quarter goes. Does Tim still post anywhere? He had some cracky ideas back in the day of what the car would be worth. I just think it's cool and rare.
