Pro Fab Tubular K-member is in!
I installed this bad boy with my new QTP headers... install was pretty straight foward... this is my first K-member install with engine in car and I Gotta say it wasnt that bad! Fitment was incredible with ALL holes lining up perfect the first time! Engine mounts bolted right on, clearance is HUGE everywhere! I can slide headers in and out with ease now, as well as easily access the motor mounts, which I have to replace one of next week... I HGHLY Recommend this to anyone that was thinking about a K-member but had never heard of Pro Fab, or was just considering the difference between BMR and this one! Plus they offer any color you want (I got black powdercoat) and it only took 4 days to get!

I did my K-Member on the ground, Jacked my car up as high as I could and put jackstangs under all 4 corners so the car was level. Then I used a Cherry Picker to hold the motor up, unbolted everthing and dropped the old K-Member, and jacked the motor up a little and installed the BMR k-member and lowered the engine back down into it, it was a piece of cake.

Damn thats a pretty nice price on ebay.
I think I'll eventually get one, few other things would probably benifit me more now. Although for the header install I'm sure it would be great....

The Pro fab k-member is 10 times better than the BMR in my opinion...The only thing about the pro fab is you have to use different than stock mounting bolts (big deal!). The bmr is a crappy fit and still doesnt provide as much clearance and ease of installation as the pro fab. Pro fab rules!

Far as ease of install, it was easy for me, and a few others im sure, however I still dont recommend this for weekend warriors if you arent very skilled on this kind of stuff, and have a decent amount of tools... its one of those mods where if you screw up, your car isnt moving because nothing is supporting the engine!

I've installed quite a few BMR's and I don't know what you are talking about qith fitment cause all of mine went in like the factory K-member with no issues? I even installed one on a car that had been wrecked bad and it still went in with out to much trouble? The BMR had the motor mounts welded in place and they lined up perfect for me? Of course I am sure everyone has there opinion and this is just been my experience with the BMR never had anyone want any other type around here. I have installed them a few different ways but I have done it just like BLT FED with the exception I used a floor jack under the oil pan with a 2x12 under it and I have used the engine hoist too. They all work and I know you said not to leave this to the weekend warriors but Black Beasst did it and if he can any one can with a little time JMO? Good luck to everyone installing K-members and if you need them installed in the Houston area let me know I can do it or anything else for that matter. Seeya!!!!!!!
