My install ...finished
I've been busy trying to get my whole setup compete and thought I would post some updates for everyone to see cause I know how everyone like pictures
Couple weekends ago I got around to installing the OBX FMIC. Built a custom aluminum bracket to support the bottom of the IC. I plan on painting all mounting brackets black when doing the final touches. I also plan on cutting the front camaro out of the bumper similar to Zangel, and then finding a way to do a quick release system for the SS gloss grill so it's easy to take out when going to the track. Anyway here's some pics of the FMIC....

Nice bracket! I mounted mine in a similar fashion just up a little higher though. Any plans to cut the foam to fit? I would like to but didn't have the energy the other night and don't really know if what little bit i put back in there would even help.
I am going to cut the front up like you plan to as well but can't make up my mind on how i want to cut it.. so let me know when you do yours please, i would like to see.
I have the SLP grille to go back on but again, don't know whether i should cut it up or use for a cover for non-track times.

Thanx for the compliments guys!
RICE ETR: No plans to do anything with the foam, the thought had crossed my mind but I just don't think it would be worth the effort and time. I will post pics when the bumper is cut out, probably get to that this weekend since I'm still waiting for my head gaskets to show up.

bracket looks nice but wow it's low.
what did you do just cut off the bottom of the bumper cover to get it to fit?
i recommend getting the foam back in. at higher speeds your bumper will start to implode without it.

It's only .5" lower than the IC mounting bung. I think the thing that makes it look low is how wide it is. If it does end up scraping on an incline or something then I can kiss my bumper and air dam goodbye as well
good point on the foam for extra support but that bumper is pretty stout when it all mounted and fastened in there. How high of speeds you talkin?

got me som - no, it wont block flow, what he would do is cut out the section in front of the IC. I should have took a pic of mine. but it would be something like this _|-----|_ where the ic is below the dotted line.
2k - the bumper is but not the cover. people have watched them flex on 1/4 mile runs. so we are talking around 100mph, might be less, I honestly dont know the exact speed for sure. and I agree on the scraping I was talking more about I wondered how the heck you got the bottom lip of the bumper cover over that, looking at the pics I assume you trimmed that part off?

I ended up cutting about 3.5-4" inches off of the flap on the bottom of the bumper that kinda wraps up under the car. I'll take a pic of that tonight.
I think I'll consider the foam a little more now. Thanx for the advice.

Man thats sweet, aluminum rocks. You did a great job, if you can't get the foam to fit back in, just fab up an aluminum frame to support the bumper.
If you need and idea on how to do it, I've seen it posted in the drag race tech forum, so a quick search will get you a pic or two of the frame that people build when the ditch the foam.

ahhh ok, now it all makes sense
what I did was raise my IC a few inches and it all tucks back in nicely.
but what you did certainly works too.
you will love it when your all done, they really work well and look sweet in the nose of a camaro

I can't wait to get this all done! I found out its still going to be 1.5 weeks till my head gaskets are here, so I guess I will have plenty of time to get the fuel setup all installed.
Managed to get my cam installed and balancer pinned (roll pinned) tonight. The roll pins I had were a much better fit than the dowels I have, so I used them.
Cam specs: 226/232 .580/.585 115 LSA +2

Thought I would post some pics of the gauges and raptor shift light for everyone as well.
I used a nice teminal block to wire everything up nicely. I only had to drill a small hole in the stock A-pillar to allow the wiring to be routed.

Started on my fuel setup tonight.
Mototron 60# injectors
Aeromotive Fuel Pump Controller
Moroso Y Block
Steel braided line (w/ gator clamps)
Male/Female connector for wiring
Dual Walbros 255L
All I really got acomplished was running the wires for the fuel pump controller and cut the access panel for the fuel pump.
I'm going to get the D1SC, SDCE, and intercooler piping installed while I wait for the headgaskets to show up. This is how the car sits as of now (pic taken before stock crank pulley was put on, and engine cleaned up a bit).
