Default Called out by 62mm FD RX7??

Got called out, before my car is even running by a 3rd gen RX7 with just a 62mm single and all the supporting modes to run...supposedly 20lb of boost.

My car: 2001 SS M6
MS4 Cam
LS6 stage 1 heads
Crane double rollar timing set
LS6 valley cover
QTP longtubes
TSP true duals
Vic JR intake
Nitrous outlet elbow
92mm fast TB
Fast Toys lid
SLP 85mm maf
msd 8.5
Nitto radials on 10-spoke

This is for some money so I would really like some input before I race.

How much power are you putting down to the wheels, are you on drag or street radials? Also what tires will he be on?

With the info you gave I predict the 7 winning the roll race and the dig being more of a driver's race(still giving the wankel theadvantage). just my $.02

I'm on Drag Radials and he is on street tires. It is the stock motor. I'm not sure how that motor will handle 20lbs of boost.

And I have a 4:10 gear, B&M Short shifter, and 42lb injectors.

Sammyboy, how much are you putting down? and if you haven't dynoed what SHOULD you be putting down? a stock motor FD can handle 20psi no problem as long as he has the supporting mods...

I'd say he'll be around 430-450rwhp, depending on rear + gears.

lol. That 7 is on stock twins only running 14psi, not quite what the OP is up against....

Thanks flash, I would say a dig run will go to whoever can get off the line better, and sence the OP has the tire advantage I would say he has the DIG advantage as well. I am interested to see if the FD willbeable to run him down.

VIDEO PLEASE

FD rx7 come stock with TT, To give you a better idea of what the FD is packing, When My 7 was bolt-on ,tt it was good for ABOUT 300 to the wheels at 13psi, After upgrading to a larger single turbo I put down 390 to the wheels at about 14psi. So you can see the difference in how much air the stock twins can flow compared to a larger single.

I usually had it cranked up to 17psi, goodtimes...lol And that was on 93 octane pumpgas.

But don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to take anything away from the OPs setup. It also sounds like a stout ride. It should be agood race, And I would deff like to see some good video footage.

I didn't know that, you see I dont know to much about the rx7, I thought as on the supra a TT set up was better, but like I said I dont know a whole lot about rx7.

That guys camaro should be putting down like ~440whp in that neighborhood. How much hp do you think the RX7 will be putting down?

I thought I would be at a little high numbers with cam/heads/intake/and exhaust. I've seen setups with just heads and cam...higher than that.

I know I shouldn't be optimistic about dyno numbers, because that isn't what really matters, but I was looking for somewhere close to 480-490whp.....then again...I'm just hoping.

I honestly don't know what the FD guy is reffering to with his 62mm turbo so it's hard to say. But if he is going to be running 20 psi I would assume itisa medium/large size turbo...That being said i wouldn't be suprised if the FD puts down more than the OP. Mid 400s should be easy with 500 not being outof the question. But there are just too many variables to accuratly guess.

Also the fuel that the FD is running will make a large difference. 91 , 116, e-85, alkyinjection... you've got me curious about the RX7s mods now lol.

I don't know much about import cars in general, but I can tell you 9/10 fast supras are single turbo.

ProjectD - sounds like a fun car my friend.
