Question 10 speaker bose

Hey,

this is for all you veterans,

I have a 10 speaker Bose system that is completely blown. I want to replace all the speakers without running all new wires and stuff ( Plug n play).

Which speakers can I buy from like bestbuy, circuit city. That will work

thanks

you can get the same speakers that best buy and circuit city carry for 50% less on amazon. find out how much power your amp has to each speaker and find some you like that are made to run at that power range. (if a speaker's max rms is much greater than what it wil get, it will sound under powered.)

95 TAs didn't have bose...ask me how i know?! the factory amp location on that model/year is behind the passenger side rear interior trim panel, right side rear seat = below the b-pillar speaker.

Two harnesses behind the radio. The main power/speaker harness supplies the power and signal to the speakers in the doors and the 4 speakers in the the hatch cargo area (4" mid-range and a 1" tweeter). You can get that harness ANYWHERE, or you might try Circuit City and see if they've got the specialty harness that the corvette's used. It powers up and sends signal to the 6 1/2" mid-bass drivers too! Ask them for that harness (METRA# 70-2004) unless they've changed the model number again, that should be the right number for ya. That'll allow you to not have to bypass the amp. As far as plug-&-play, Circuit City also carries the speaker harness adapters as well. (# DW-4568-SH or 72-4568)

Hope this helps.

You have the "premium" (no brandname) 10-speaker audio system that was offered in 93-96 Firebirds. Bose systems were only offered in Camaros and they were only available in 3-speaker and 5-speaker versions. Your system is very similar to the Monsoon with components in the doors, subs in the sail panels, and components in the hatch area. The amp is considerably smaller and is mounted behind the right quarter trim panel below the sail panel speaker (next to the right rear seat).

Just like the Monsoon, you don't need any special parts to replace the head unit. A mounting kit, antenna adapter, and the standard 88-up GM wiring harness adapter are all you need. All of these are available at any audio shop, auto parts store, or even Wal-Mart.

The only "gotcha" with the speakers is that the sail panel subs get only low filtered signal from the amp so you can't use full-range or coaxial speakers there. Other than that, you can use any 6.5" component speakers you like for the doors and (if you really have to) you can replace the hatch speakers with any 4" mids you like (no point in replacing the hatch tweeters unless they're fried - which they seldom are).

just like WhiteBird said, you can get those parts almost anywhere. I skipped the little tib-bit about the mid-bass driver's in the said panels. I don't know if they are the same ohm load as in the later monsoon systems (2 Ohm DVC) or not.

But, Legendarysouls, as far as what's in my car:

H/U:
Pioneer DEH-P6000UB
Pioneer GEX-P920XM = XM satelite radio direct connect module
Pioneer CDBT-B200 = Bluetooth interface module
PAC Steering Wheel Control Interface
5V Power Supply (for my 250GB portable HDD)

Doors:
Infinity Kappa Perfect series 6.5" Component speakers
Kicker KS13 = fiberglassed tweeter pods next to mirrors

B-Pillars/Sail Panels:
Polk Momo 6.5" component speakers

Sub:
Audiobahn 10" in sealthbox on drivers side

Amp:
KICKER 700.5 5 Chanel amplifier = powering the mids, highs, and sub!

and as you can guess from my sig...my wiring isn't the little dinky kit you're gonna find at wally-world; competition series RCAs for signal transfer, 4awg power kit:'( [which is awaiting for my 0AWG kite to arrive]
