Default Maybe a dumb ?

I am doing my install, and can't remember which side is pos or neg on this speaker wire. Just want to make sure. Both sides are clear and one side has a red line going down the center of it. Thanks for the help. You can see some of the things I am install in this forum:

I'm not sure what it pos or neg could be, sounds like the red stripe would be pos. Why not take your voltmeter and take the ground from somewhere else and try the pos on the red stripe wire. If no voltage, try the other. It may not come out to be 12V but you would know. Take measurements with the unit off as well to confirm the readings.

yea aslong as you got one particular wire as positive that same wire has to be positive on the other end and the same for the other wire.

Still need to get the speakers install. So I think I will try it with the pos being the one with the red line in it.

hook it up and turn the system on. if it sounds really thin(out of phase) you know you got it backwards.

It makes absolutely no difference which wire you use for positive or negative - wire is wire. As was said earlier, just pick one to use as positive and make sure you consistently use it the same throughout your wiring. For example, if you decide to use the red stripe for positive, connect the red stripe to the positive output of your amp and to the positive terminal on your speaker. Do the same for every connection and you won't have any problems.
