Default Beat a bolt on 5.0 today

On the way home from work a good looking 5.0 rolled up beside me. We talked after the run and we are pretty equally modded.
He has Cai, bbk long tubes, tune, borla exhaust, and its a 3.73 geared stick car.
I have a Cai, 1 7/8 Lts, and tune. 3.27s in my hoopty.
We ran from about 50 to 120. I pulled about a half a car in 2nd and into third, he stopped my pull at the top of his 3rd. He hit 4th and I was at the top of 3rd by then, pulled out about to about a car and a half. When I hit 4th he stopped my pull again. And then we had to shut down due to traffic.

I'll post some pics of his ride, cool guy. He was a bit suprised I was in an auto I think.

Nice, a 5.0 with those mods is no joke. How was his shifting?

something doesnt seem right. i would think he would have been in 5th gear by the time youre at the top of 3rd especially if it was a close race.sounds like maybe he started off in the totally wrong gear......

You realize im a 6 speed auto? My 3rd tops out at 101. I have it setup to shift at 6200 rpm, 1-2 is at 39, 2-3 at 69, 3-4 at 101, and 4-5 at 135. Here are some photos of his ride.

And just because one doesnt, doesnt mean they all dont. Ive learned that for every fast car... there are 10 slow ones with the exact same work done.

Lol. With drs from a dig, id expect him to win, but he didn't have drs and it wasn't a dig run....lol.
I couldn't pull when he was at the top of a gear but my car seemed to have more trq as I never lost any steam after a shift. I was a bit suprised. I guess the internets had me believing I was running john force.

I am not suprized one bit, but then again I dont go by what I read online more on what I see for real. The 5.0s are great cars and are a bit better on the strip with a cheaper easy tire swap and solid axle, but the SS is right there with it. Both on stock tires with a few upgrades these cars are very even and its gonna be the driver that wins the race. If your driving a ls3 car you would have won by more, bolt-on for bolt-on on the street in a roll race, my money is on the camaro on avg.
