350z v. z28 I raced a 350z last night. We were side by side till bout 100 then he started pulling away. At the end he was almost a car lenght ahead of me at about 130. I wish I had the money to put some mods on the engine. But o well. It was fun.

Thats strange. If both cars are stock, I would thing it should be dead even the whole way. I owned a 1990 300ZX Twin Turbo before my LT1s and I must say, my 97 Z28 is DEFINATELY faster stock for stock.

I sold my 04 350 last year...they really are not that fast, no torque. With some bolt ons they would stay with an LT1/LS1 if they were a good driver.
I had the regular bolt ons and a 100 shot of nitrous. I would beat a Z06/94 Viper till about 60-70 VERY easily with the bottle but after that the 350 would really die and the Vette/Viper would pull *****. I would probably beat them in the 1/8 mile but they would end up winning by 3-4 cars in the 1/4.
Without the bottle is was a joke.

I raced a Z350 months ago...my car is jap spec with a lousy ratio of 2.73...
starting from 0k I took the lead on my first and second gear....and the race lasted for like 3.somthing kilos I gave him about 1.5 car length...
the onwer is a friend of mine
it was a long fun race though....

when my car was stock except for a shorter shift stick i raced a stock g35 and one with the performance package from a dig and a roll and i owned both of them by a few cars which was funny cuz there dads had paid for their cars and i had bought my lt1 with my money

My auto ran 14.1 @ 97mph 2.1 60ft stock.... most 350Zs are between 14.2 ~ 14.4 @ 99~101mph. We got ripped off with a shitty intake (air box) design and restrictive exhaust.
Nothing to worry about..just take care of those two problems and your outcome would have been different.
