Kill Story section "killed" on Corvette Forum.
Don't know if anyone knows or cares. The Kill Story section of Corvetteforum.com was "killed" off. Quote "it was determined by corvetteforum management that the Kill Stories section did not add positive value to the site."
Of course it got alot of from all the ***-clowns who inhabit the off-topic section.
"Kill the off topic section to save bandwidth" This coming from the same group who spend their whole day making free posts to bump their post count.
Of course if you publically disagree you risk a permanent ban on the site. I guess maybe a kill-section doesn't belong on the Corvette site since many of the owners over there spend more time worrying about how many coats of Zaino their car has and many times they have polished their exhaust tips.
By and large you get a lot of negative comments from several owners since street racing is "so bad". Of course many of those owners wouldn't know how to drive on or off the track.
Forgive me if this belongs in one of the other sections, I just felt like venting since the other site is overrun with a bunch of of poser lamers who are all stuck in their little circle jerk stroking each others personality and giving each other. over their own lameness...

I agree with you, I go two threads locked down in 10 minutes after I complained and I was threatned that I would be banned if they had to do it again.

The adminstartor of the site banned me for talking about Hondas and wrote me racist emails because he knew I was half spanish.

Hmmm, not too many C5s that I've come across would even race. Only a handful, usually driven by a younger guy in most cases, would try.
Maybe their "Kill Story" section was more like "I got killed again" and was full of losses? Then it should be deleted LOL.

Re: Kill Story section "killed" on Corvette Forum.
I don't think it was shut down because of C5 guys losing races, nor because of the trolls; it was shut down due to the Administrators' legal pin-heads opining that it may be perceived as promoting or facilitating an illegal act (street racing). I believe this is ludicrous, but with all the ambulance-chasers out there I guess I cannot blame them. Again...their words, not mine.

Anyway, screw Corvetteforum. I enjoyed the comraderie of a lot of guys in the kill section. I hung out with quite a few of them here in the DFW area, so we'll still hang out, but we'll have to post elsewhere. Pisses me off too because I have almost 1900 posts on corvetteforum. I'm tired of 90% of the old farts over there just talking about Zaino and being scared of installed a CAGS bypass, **** like that. I'll still check in a few times a week to see if anything interesting is going on in the tech section or forced induction section, but that's about it for me. Too bad because I've spend thousands of dollars there with supporting vendors and even bought my $45k Vette from a supporting dealer of the forum. Oh well, life goes on....

Re: Kill Story section "killed" on Corvette Forum.
I had a big long debate with the guys in that kill section once a little while back (LS1 vs LT1 thing, basically an LT1 C4 was faster than an LS1 Fbody). A few of them finally came around and saw reason, but some of them weren't willing to admit the LS1 (in the C5 or Fbod, stock vs stock) was faster than the LT1 Vette. I was amazed that they actually believed that (I even had some C5 guys backing me up).
The drag racing section is about the only other one I post on over there.

Here is one of the threads. You can see who is for and against...
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=463597
Here is another thread that got locked on the subject...
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=467562
Anyhow, posts pretty much get locked when discussing klls over there now. I think a few of the folk were offeneded that the only thing they do with their Corvettes was to polish their exhaust tips and apply wax....
Anyhow, Tony is right on. There are owners, some old, and some who are younger who actually do race their cars. But of course there are the off-topic junkies who are all wrapped up in stroking one anothers egos and jacking their post counts.
But, several of these "important people" decided that they knew what was best for everyone. Street racing is soooo bad, and people who participate are just simply evil.
Anyhow, a thread from many of those guys probably would be "I got smoked Pinto" because they don't race their cars, and probably never break the speed limit in them. Hey, if thats what they want to do with their cars. Great for them.
But don't go making all of us who actually drive our cars out as being some sort of social deviant or evil that must be stomped out.
If all you want to do is polish your car with a diaper, polish your tips, and have a 1meg sig then hurrah for you....
Anyhow I've vented enough. Anyone have any good kills lately? I haven't had a chance to run into much on the street lately.

Re: Kill Story section "killed" on Corvette Forum.
That's exactly what Corvetteforum has become. 98% of the people over there who even have a Corvette don't drive the car any harder than they would a big Cadillac. All's the do is walk out to the garage occasionally, jack off on their car and then feel bad, so then they Zaino the car 5 times, go to confession, and then come back to polish the tips and the wheel wheels.
I'll be spending some time in here and at corvetteactioncenter.com

I like my post better:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=464955
I don't check the kill section often and they never posted anything about removing that section anywhere, so no wonder everyone was like.. WTF??
That post cost me 20pts. Guess being around offering technical advice for 3 years doesn't count for a whole lot unless you want to post about Zaino and snorkel air filters.

Nice to hear from you corvetteforum.com kill section guys, I post there when I have a kill from time to time. I am sad to see it go sway.
So, where do we corvetteforum.com people post kill stories? How about here in ls1tech.com?

Re: Kill Story section "killed" on Corvette Forum.
It isnt fair to say all Corvette drivers dont push their car.Their are guys that push there car and guys that baby it.Its possible that when you seen one of them they just got down beating their car or maybe they werent in the mood. There are alot of F-Body drivers that baby the car as well.My cousin has a C5 pushs it,My friend has a Viper pushes it,All my friends with F Bodys except one Nancy push their cars,I push my car.My mom doesnt,My Dad,every girl I ever went out with and my oldest brother take it easy.People get scared and alot of them dont use their Vette as a daily driver and love it alot(like I would) an possibly arent too familiar with it.
Zaino is used by all makes, whats wrong with that

Re: Kill Story section "killed" on Corvette Forum.
A relatively small portion of Corvette owners push their cars hard on a daily basis. I have run my car hard since the time I broke it in when new. I have had it for a bit more than 2 years and have over 30,000 miles on it. I have autocrossed, roadraced, drag raced, and street raced the car hard. Oil temps have been in excess of 280 degrees while roadracing and my poor R compound tires were being abused, my brake fluid boiling. The car loves it. I have no qualms about racing anyone on the street/track where ever when conditions are right.
I consider myself a rare exception to most Corvette owners.
LS1LT1, Concour Devilles are sweet, nice ride!!

Re: Kill Story section "killed" on Corvette Forum.
My point exactly. This is one of the few places that still has a decent kill section.
However, a lot of folks are migrating to
www.corvetteactioncenter.com - Which has a kill section
and the new
www.corvetteforums.net - Blake Kerkovich and Sensei Earl just set that up....
As for Ls1tech. The thing about this site is it is much more F-Body oriented. But that is not a bad thing. The F-Body people are about performance. That is what I am here for. Ther e is more "tech" on this site. The Internal engine folks actually know what is up and what works. And mods on this board consist of more than a set of Lloyd mats and a rear partition
