00 ws6 vs. 04 mustang gt
i was on my way home when i see a mustang coming the other way. and i look over and he turns around and floors it and ends up doing a 180. well after he gets control he comes up beside me and passes me, so i start messin with him. well he was 2 cars or so in front and gives me the signal and we go for it. and i end up catchin up with his front at my door, and i stop due to not wanting to get caught we were already passed 100. we then catch a light and i ask him what he thought of that and he just said damn u killed me. he then wanted to race from a dig and that just wasnt pretty. anyway thanks for listening.

Awesome man! I have the same nervous tendancies you do. I love to race, but am terrified of getting caught. I'm a former '02 mustang GT driver, and I knew better to mess with ls1's. I learned the hard way though! Good kill! Keep them ponies in the stables.

My friends 03 GT m5 w/ short throw, K&N drop in, and nothing but cats (sounds like a hill billy truck) only pulled off a 14.5 at the track the other night w/ a 2.2 60ft time. Air and Temps were good. I give him credit. he can keep up w/ me on the street, but then again he hasn't ever known of the term traction problems

Even a stock mustang will put up a good fight through the first couple of gears. After 3rd comes around is where it gets nasty. When I had bolt ons and gears I never had any problems putting a couple of cars from a dig. After that, I'm sure you guys know the rest... Thankfully I've come along way now.

There are some 10 second n/a 2V's out there. I just wish Ford did a little more, like putting the navi motor 5.4 in the GT.
Driving does help. My buddies 02 GT w/ just drag radials pulled a 13.5@99mph

the 02, 03, 04 (those style) mustang gt's can be quick out of the hole if they have a lot of mods and DRs especially too....they are lighter than our f-bodies but usually they still dont put out the power to hang up top

The 2v can get outta the hole on the street pretty good (no wheel spin cause not much power)... I used to race my buddy 99ss at the time I only had a 3.73 gear intake, xhaust and chip. We would come outta the hole with me ahead and him slowly pullin up, then passing me at around 85mph and that was it...HE GONE! I was pretty impressed since I dynoed like 230rwhp and he dynoed 307rwhp. He was about 150-200#s heavier and I hook better with a better gear.

a 2.2 60 ft time on stock size BFG KDWS on a test and tune late night is good in my book. we have late night drags at our strip every other friday from 10pm-2am after the normal test and tune from 6pm-10pm. I've attended two of them and making any run after 11:30 is pointless, because the late night even is for all those ricers and no many run slicks, and cleaning the track is unheard of there. heck I could only hit a 2.1 (everything after that was 2.4-2.5) w/ my nitto drag radials during those two times I attended.
I tried convincing him to buy a summer only tire, but instead one of the local tire stores bent him over for like $375 on that pair of tires.
But you're right he has pretty damn good traction on the street. The one time he's beaten me was when I had the stock 15" (235/70/15) winter tires on the car. I smoked them all the way through 1st, and he just got up and went. I was behind 1.5 cars at 80mph when we shut down.
