Magnacharged 03 ZO6 vs 408 SS After three long months of my car being down I finally managed to get her running. So I drove down to the local strip where everyone goes to find a few races. I destroyed a yellow skittle, 2 LS1 Z28's, assorted rice(yawn). I was getting frusterated because I wanted to strech this thing out and see how the new cam did. As the evening progressed I rolled into the Sonic everyone hangs out at and found what I was looking for. A Yellow 03 ZO6.
After we looked over each others cars(His mods Magna charger exhaust is all I could see) we went out onto the highway. We went 5 times. I do not believe you could find 2 more equally matched cars. 1st race we went from 30. Dead even until I miss shifted 4th(Thank god I have a forged T56 is all I can say. NASTY) 2nd run dead even. 3rd run he jumped and I blew the tires off ended him by 3. 4th dead even until he miss shifted 4th. 5th I got him by a car due to him shifting a little early.
I am glad my nitrous wasnt working. I would not have been able to resisit the temptation of the extra 250 hp. I am proud of my new setup. And I still dont have a tune. Now I know his car dyno's around 480 rwhp. I dont have a dyno "YET". I have an iron block 400lbs of people in the car. No lightening of the car. He had a passenger also. What kind of rwhp would it take my 408 to make to stay even with a much lighter car like that?

Damn man sounds like ya had an awesome time with your N/A 408 set-up & i assume ya have over 500rwhp to stay right there with HIM

yea the camaro probably weighed about 400lbs more during the race, so I would say a bit over 500hp is an underestimate.
Stack on a 250 shot and that would be one hell of a ride.

There are vids. I will get them posted as soon as I find the guys with the camera. It is from the back of us though. We had 8-9 cars rolling to watch. I actually expected to get walked on the upper end. Hopefully we can rematch next weekend and get some in car video. I will then show him what the extra 250 looks like.lol

Sounds like you too had a good time. Great kills/deaths. Was that the Z06 with the younger kid(early 20s maybe) driving? The one that used to drive around with no hood on(don't know if he found one to fit yet). I used to cruze in that part of town very frequently and would see him all the time. talked to him once b4 he went FI. what does your car look like?
