Default What are the chances of this?

I used to own a 68Camaro that we street raced back in the late 80's early 90's. The car at that time had a 406cu nitrous motor. We had a lot of fun with it but the street racing scene here in Ft Lauderdale got too crazy with cops impounding cars and arrests.Anyway i sell the car in 1994 and lose track of who owned it.I had heard that a guy bought it that lived in FtLaud but I never saw it. So i'm out sunday driving yesterday in my 06Z06 and i see this 68Camaro with these "huge" tires on the back of it.I get up next to the guy and he asks me if i want to run and of course i said hell yes and preceeds to put about 2car lengths on my Z06 after 1st and 2nd gear. So now I'm pissed and no i didn't miss a shift.I stop him to congratulate him on my first good *** wuppen.Low and behold its my old car with a 572cu mountain motor putting down over 650hp to the wheels on motor. Nice Guy has owned it for about 5 years and doesn't take it out on the street that often. So i'm still mad about the *** wippen but not quite as mad as before.......................

Loud and Fast.Old style coil overs and fat tires.the 06Z was no match from a 25mph role! I forgot to ask the guy what the car ran in the 1/4. I imagine high 10's maybe low 11's on motor. I ran 9.43et with a 468cu dual stage nitrous motor in that car in the early 90's. That was on 10.5in slicks

Atleast your old car was taken car of.. I had a 1984 Z28 that I sold to a friend. A few years later I saw the car and wanted to cry. It looked like he never washed or waxed it.. Blowing smoke out the exhaust.. It was it really sad shape.

That sucks! I had a 84 high output 305cu. Is that the car you had ?I also had a 87Z28-TPI(stolen and stripped) 95Z28-LTI/Procharger (sold and trashed by new owner) 01Z06 road raced to death after i sold it 40k miles but pristine condition. So i feel your pain..............hehe

That's pretty cool.

I remember when I sold my GSR the guy sent me a pic of it the next week and it was slammed way too low with ugly flat-gunmetal wheels on it.

Mine had a 305cu but wasn't TPI. Completely stock right down to the Rochester Quadra-junk carb. But still "was" a nice car. Hehe it was my 1st V8.

My 86 IROC is TPI. Hopefully soon will be sporting an LS1 instead.

Yeah my 305cu had the Quadrajet also. I almost went for the "cross fire injection" model. I'm glad i didn't My 87 was also an IROC with the TPI motor. I put a H/C package on the car from SLP which was the only game in town at that time. It took months before i could find someone to tune the car so it wouldn't stall out at idle. it was pretty fast. I had alot of fun with it until someone ripped it on news years eve!. they found it in Opa Locka Fla a couple of weeks later. I got what insurance money i could and bought the 68camaro. funny......... The 86 IROC will be a really cool car with the LS1 motor in it.

Yeah he may be in the 9's. i should have asked him. All i know is that he jumped out on me pretty good. It was like "holy ****" i just got jumped 2 f###ing car lengths in my 480rwhp Z06. That has never happened. Maybe i shouldn't be so cocky right...........

I wish I could say I never got beat by my old car, but hey... it happens. At least you know the new owner is enjoying it as much as you did!

LOL, my second vehicle was a '97 Hardtop SS M6 with the LT4 conversion and a bunch of bolt-ons. It was my frist stick and I was 17. I owned it for 30 days before putting it in a ditch at 35mph and somehow totaling it. I've never seen the previous owner, thankfully...
