Supercharged Stang vs. 98 Z
I have a 98 Z28 M6 with 3.73's and a few intake/exhaust mods (no manifold or headers)....basically a stock car. This weekend I raced around a 02 Mustang GT. We were driving down a two lane road, I was following him. There were a couple of work trucks in front of us, and they were driving about 35 mph in a 45 mph zone. Eventually the trucks turned off and from about a 45 roll we took off. I was really taken by suprise when I didn't eat the back bumper of the Mustang. It was a very close race and I only pulled slightly up to about 70. We both let off at about 110. We pulled into a gas station shortly after the run, and the guy driving the stang was amazed that I had stayed with him because he informed me of all of his mods. I can't remember all of them, but I do remember the big one....a supercharger. I don't know how much boost he was running. He said the car was running low 12's in the quarter and high 7's in the eigth. Anyway, I left the situation feeling fairly good.

I'm doing alright. But not as fast as his claims. He also had drag radials which I don't have and the stronger rearend. My best time is 8.40 in the 1/8th and 12.98 in the quarter. The only thing I can figure is because we raced from a roll. Last time I ran my car at the track I broke the ring and pinion. I just can't launch the car off the line without messing stuff up. From the dig the outcome may have been different. Its just hard to one up the pull of the ol' LS1 in 3rd gear!

Good run! I ran my best last friday, 8.000@89.685 w/1.66 60'. Whats sad is I ran a best of 8.4@82 before the Procharger, so I definetely have room for improvement, just need to work on my shifting.

Yea he said it was pushing around 350 at the tires. And I never was beside the car for a good listen but I definitely couldn't hear the sc from where I was. I think during wot I would have heard some other models.
