Anyone running 18" wheels/Stranos/Konis come in
My ride is ruff as hell, just wondering what you guys running 18" or bigger wheels/Strano springs and Konis what settings on your Konis are you using. Right now I have mine set to one turn from full soft in the rear and 5 sweeps from soft in the fronts. When I started I had tried 3 and also 4 sweeps in the front. I find it's jaring when I hit any little bump. I know tires and also being lower has alot to do with it but I don't think it should be this ruff. Thanks for any help.

I'm running 275/35/18 tires on my Strano/Koni set-up....if you're running your front shocks at 5 sweeps, I'm sure it is rough! I tried 5 sweeps and allthough it does handle well, it's far from a comfortable ride. If you're looking for comfortable, then only run a 1/2 sweep to full sweep from full soft...that's what I run for daily driving and it's a very comfortable ride. I'm running 3rd Gen rears, so I only have 4 settings and I'm on 1 up from full soft in the rear.
...of course I'm on 18's after trying 275/30/19's on OEM C6 rims and I learned my lesson...a 30 series tire = a VERY rough ride!

Just put on 18's w/NT05's 275/35 in front, 285/35 out back. I'm at 35lbs 4 sweeps front and 1 full turn out back and didnt really feel a diff in the ride quality even with the Nittos stiffer side walls. I know if I want a softer ride putting the rears to full soft helps and is easy to do if you have the 4/4 SA's.
I went from my 17" LE's with 275/40 Kumho's..btw

I'm with you, OP. I'm running our 18" C6 Spyders with Strano springs and 4/3 Koni's. I took Sam's advice of running the shocks at the "middle" settings to get a feel for which way to go. My ride is stiff as hell!!
From what i read, I want my fronts to be "1 sweep from full soft" and my rears "2 sweeps from full soft". That might get me to where i want to be. I know it's no Cadillac, but I'd rather lose a bit of performance than to feel EVERY bump

Couple things here guys, first make SURE your tire pressure is set right, start at 30psi and play with it +- to see what you like. Next try turning UP the front shocks, giving them less rebound (by turning them down) does NOT always give a better ride, there is a point where it gets worse. Try many different settings, they are adjustable for a reason (and make sure to go all the way in one direction, then count the sweeps from there, don't just guess or assume where you are set at.
How would someone compare full soft front Koni's to other shocks?
