Default The worse feeling!!

I was coming home from school today and it starts to rain extrememly hard. My vision was cut down to almost two car lengths. I pulled onto the free way and everything seemed to be goin fine when my car started jerking right and left. I have never felt that before. I would try to correct it but even wit the steering wheel slighty turned i would continue to go the opposite way. the back seemed to be planted pretty good but the front end was just not complying. This has only happened to me once before but since then i have replaced most of the bushings that were shot, the struts, the tires i was running were 235/60 16 i believe and the tie rods were replaced as well. I know i have not gotten it aligned but im not sure if that is the problem. Can anyone chime in on this problem because i have never had a worse experience than this. Not to mention that my wipers were cuttin off on me at times.

Yup that link does explain some stuff but that is the first time that this has happened to me on the freeway. Usually it goes straight and does a good job. Can anything in the suspension really add to it? I know it say properly inflated tires and narrower tires but can anything else play a role?

I could be way off, but it sounds like you were just caught in some deep ruts and hydroplaning....

I really do hope that it was just that but i guess i will try taking it somehwere to get it properly aligned and go from there. I dont feel like finding out that another bushing is out or that i need a rack n pinion or anything. I have been under the car almost every weekend for something new and i guess its something i have to expect with 200k on the clock

I wouldn't worry about it, just slow down when it rains.

If you drive in the rain, get some tires that perform well in the rain, else slow it down... Also be careful not to gun-it when changing lanes, for fear of spin-out!

And another thing to consider, depending on where you live...Oils accumulate on roads, and if it only rains once in a great while, the first 20-30 minutes of rain make the roads really slippery, until the rain has washed off the oil.
