Default Which UMI TA do I need?

2001 Camaro. I have Pacesetter LT's that go into a true dual system. The duals come down the passenger side of the car over the rear axle. Car is also lowered on Strano Springs (Konis). I do not use the car for anything but the street. I'm confused if I need an adjustable TA or not (or a relocation kit).

Stock-length style. The adjustable one will allow you to fix your pinion angle since you're lowered, but if you're not getting driveline vib and don't track the car, it's not necessary. The torque arm relocation/trans crossmember is nice, but also not required - it takes the torque arm load off the tailshaft of the transmission, and allows you to adjust your instant center some.

Plus the stock length torque arm seems to be more street friendly (less noise and no rear wheel hop upon braking).

Hello,

Both post above our correct and are what we would recommend.

With true duals the transmission mounted torque arm is going offer the best clearance and in most cases additional room over the factory torque arm. Here is the torque arm we recommend- www.umiperformance.com/2205 and here are quite a few pictures of this item installed with a true dual system- Installation Pictures

The relocation kit is optional, you should be just fine with out it on a street car with no track use.

If I can help anymore please ask. Thank you!

That's exactly what I was going to recommend. I run a full length on my car, I cannot for classing reasons run the TA relocation bracket. You might consider that as well, but if you decide not to at first, it can be added at any time in the future.

I handle all the UMI TA's and brackets as well.

What about running a relocation crossmember bc of running solid motor mounts. Obviously you don't want anything tugging on the tail of the trans when the motor is fixed solid.

A relocation kit for the torque arm to remove it from the tail shaft is always a good idea and would never hurt to have it installed. When you need one is based on your power and/or how you drive the vehicle. A daily driven automatic with a few bolt ons could survive with out a relocation crossmember.

How often does the vehicle see the track? What kind of power? Stall?

Hope that helps!

H/C and 4k stall with drag radials and a severe beating every time it gets pulled out of the garage, which is about 2-3 times a month. Yeah I'd say a cross-member would be a good investment.

Yes I would agree as well, it would be a good additional to your vehicle.

If I can help anymore please ask. Thanks!
