Default question regarding bilsteins

I know that most people on here say the slp bilsteins and the HD ones are more or less the same things. But on the ws6store, the slp ones are 30$ more. Is there any benefits to the slp ones, would I loose any sleep over saving some money and going with the hds?

From what I understand, the HDs were better with stock springs while the SLPs were designed to be used with their lowering springs...however, Strano keeps tabs on them and says lately, their valving is almost identical. Cant really go wrong with either. FWIW, I have HDs with 2" lowering springs on my car and they work just fine

^^^ What he said.

I'm sure you would be happy with either set.

I have lots of SLP's in stock (shipment came today) for $379.99. And if you are in NJ as your info suggests, shipping would be less than $20 and no tax.

I plan on ordering a set within the next week. I don't plan on lowering it anytime soon but. I may in the future so maybe I'll bight the bullet and go with the slp. I can't take the creeking and sqeaking of my decarbons.

The valving has changed a bit since the SLP cars were in production. The fronts are almost exactly the same (small change on compression), the rears are different than that old production valving.

Does that mean the new rear HDs perform better?

Better? No, different. In ways better, in ways not as good. Compression and rebound are both different than previous iterations. In the end it's a wash, they are what they are.

The level 2 package is definetly a good choice

Shipping varies depending on things like how rural you are even within a zip code, weight, and what's ordered. An HP2 is a bit more than 50 pounds, add insurance to a 47374 which I think is Indiana.... Probably looking around $40 (easy way to do is roughly a dollar a pound, of course that's not always perfect, like here).
