Default 2011 Camaro Brembo Brake pics

Finally got around to taking some pictures of the front brakes installed on my 01 SS. Stock 14" Camaro Calipers bored w/hubs bored out to 70.7mm, stock 2011 caliper bolts (had to drill the caliper mounts on the spindle out to 9/16" to accept the 2011 Camaro caliper bolts. Had to replace the stock pads because of the weights attached to them, now using Hawk HPS pads. Supposedly the weights help quiet the pads out, I haven't noticed any noise using pads without the weights. I don't remember the exact size of the spacers (last picture) i used, but with my wheels (18x9.5 C5 Magnesium Wheels) I defiantly needed them. I also installed longer ARP wheel studs to take the added abuse from using wheel spacers. Brake feel is very solid, no fade, vibration or noise. It dosnt feel unbalanced with the stock brakes on the rear end like I thought it would either.

its been cold and rainy so I'm not very motivated to clean the wheels right now... as for them being close to the wheel, they have been on since december, plenty of aggressive braking/cornering and not a single hint that they have made contact with the back of the wheel.

being close to the wheel is just the way it is with those calipers. the brembos on my gt are the same way.

sure is, but the "black" rotors are only going on the back for now. the black should wear off quickly so there wont be a huge difference in the front vs the rear looks wise. if they look good ill throw em on the front too when the time comes.

no clue what the part number is, but there are always complete sets (front and rear) on ebay for around 900. the gen 5 camaro is the only car that uses the brembo's that are painted like these, so if you find them with this paint, they will work. Gm parts direct has them too, just search for brakes on a gen 5 SS. usually low mileage too, if anyone ends up buying a complete set and has no interest in the rear I would be very interested in buying the rear calipers/rotors.

900 is cheap. i've seen the brembos for the mustangs and/or shelbys go over 1k.

from driving my 012 gt with brembos on it......i can tell you guys this. if you have the money to upgrade your camaro brakes like the OP did.....by all means do it!! it will be the best money you've ever spent on your car.

Those are huge, I like the look of being able to see inside the wheelwell alittle. A nice set of shiny chromes would look alittle more appealing imao.

If you want the rears to work right, you need to get the backing plates, & parking brake shoes, etc. from a new camaro. As well as fab a bracket to mount the caliper. Not to mention, install a c-clip eliminator so the movement of the axles in & out doesn't force the pads open while you drive. I have the same front setup on my car now, except I'm running the 2010 camaro ss 20" wheels.
