We actually sell billet aluminum spring seat that work with the Strange/QA1 shocks that allow you to use factory style springs whether they are factory ride height or lowering springs. The part number for the spring seats is SA001 and here is a picture of them:

Yeah I think as is, they don't work unless you use their own springs. You need adapters to work with stock style springs.

Will they work? Yes

Will they work well? No

They're not the best ride out there. I'm acually saving up to switch over to koni's but for now i have the qa1's on the car for about 4-5 years i've put up with the ride but i'm still adj. them to see if i can make them ride a little better. There a bit bouncy is all really. I have the bmr cups and strano's and you can adj the front ride height which i would miss badly if i switched to koni's since i've grown to love the stance the car has.

The ride is going to be loose, bouncy and jarring all at the same time.
Save up for better shocks and skip lowering springs for now if you have to.

You can definitely use them. You just won't have a good match. Lots of people seem to live with it though, and some people even seem to prefer a less dampened ride. Not my personal preference. Get the adapters and try them out. Experiencing the difference between good and bad shock setups is something I think we should all do at some point.
