Default Shop says they can't align my car !!

Well I put new upper control arms, ball joints, etc. on my T/A and went to get it aligned since all has been apart, i know it need it bad.
Guy comes back and tells me he can't get the alignment "heads" to go on my wheels!! ...Can't get the little "fingers" that hold the heads to go up under the edge of the rims or something like that ?
Ok here's what I've got: stock 2000 WS6 17" rims, with BFG g-force T/A KDW 275/40ZR17 's on 'em. They do have a pretty big "rim protector" lip on them, but surely to **** I'm not the only one with these rims/tires!!
Anybody had this, or know what I can do ? Am I fucked, or is this guy just an incompetent dumbass ??

Go back at another time when someone with an IQ over 65 is working? Otherwise, I'd try a different shop.

Shops have issues getting my car on a lift, but come on, they can't do an alignment with stock wheels??? I agree with Duron, plus, that shop sounds like one around my area....

At my old shop we had the adapters for the wheel sensors that would actually clamp onto the tire, I used them whenever I had to align anything with brand new or expensive aftermarket rims. The place I work at now doesn't have them but I was still able to align my car even though my rim protectors cover the edge of the rim pretty bad. You just have to be real careful not to scratch the rims as you slide the hooks underneath the rubber. It is an added hassle though, that a flat rate mechanic might not want to deal with.

Truly, this is the fair and balanced answer.

Tkae it somewhere else. I would certainly not be confident in a place that does this regularly saying they can't do this due to a rim and tire combo. Heck 17's are starting to become standard now anyway.
