Default HAL Generation "F" Series Shocks Front & Rear Shock + BMR lowering springs???

What are your thoughts on this setup:

HAL Generation "F" Series Shocks Front & Rear Shocks (86-PKG-2) + BMR rear lowering springs???

I was thinking of getting the 275 spring so I'll have great track performance. How much will it limit street driving?

Yes, I want the best of both worlds (to be lowered and have great 60 fts)

I don't think it will limit street driving, but I don't know if it will help 60s too much...

What's a good drag racing setup that'll lower the car then? I'll also be using the bolt in Lower Control Arm Relocation Brackets to adjust the geometry.

First I would get the *R*series fronts, either QA1's or Strange. Instead of buying QA1 springs buy the BMR spring cups so you can run your stock springs. The 275# springs are WAY too low, and IMO a bit soft for heavy cars like ours. With the QA1's/Strange front shocks you can adjust the ride height, and just run your stock springs. For rear springs, I think the BMR's would be fine as would any other rear lowering spring. Or you could just cut the stock rear springs to get the desired height, thats what I did as well as many others.

Awesome...thanks for the info.

So for the front you'd recommend getting 2 of "R" series part number: 86-RC-7855-P

What about for the rear shocks? Two of these: 86-TC-2501-P?

Thats exactly what would work, but I didn't realize the price of those QA1's has went up quite a bit. I run the Strange SA shocks, I like them alot...pretty much the same thing but cheaper. I got mine from SJM manufacturing.
STR-S5269(front), STR-S5270(rears). You would still need to get BMR spring cups, which you cannot get from SJM. Also you can buy a set of torrington bearings, which will make adjusting the ride height easier.

thanks! How much should I cut off the rear springs to start?
Anywhere from a half an inch to a full coil?

Would I need the spring cups on all 4 shocks?

How much you cut would depend on a few things, I have my fronts adjusted approx 1.5" lower then stock in the front. In the rear I took the isolators out, and cut off 3/4 of the top coil. The car has some rake to it, but it will be cutting a bit more off over the winter, not too much maybe the other 1/4 of the top coil. Its easier to start with less like 1/2-3/4 of the coil and see what that does and if you want more.

For the BMR spring cups, you only need to order 1 set of (2) cups. Just for the front. The rears are not a coilover design, so for them you just go ahead and bolt them in and adjust them.
