Default Alignment Question

Fitting Eibach Pro-Lines to my 93 LT1 Trans Am, wondered if anyone had alignment setting, camber/toe etc which i can give to the garage when im getting it re-aligned so they dont make a mess of it.

Thanks

Did you mean Pros or Sportlines? I haven't heard of pro-lines.

When you put on lowering springs do you have to realign?

Yes when the car is lowered it has to be realigned. As the car is lowered the camber increases and the toe changes which could increase tire wear on a street driven car.

For a street set up just go with the factory specs. However if you are autocrossing the car max out the camber and caster and run a little toe out.

If you installed those BMR lowering springs and never had your car re-aligned? Yes!!

As Major Lee said, if you want a true "handling" setup, then max out the camber AND caster (ie: -1.5° camber, +4° caster), and for auto-x, a little toe out. I have my car set with a little bit of toe in, but I run more of the high speed tracks, and I daily drive my car as well, so I prefer the less "darty" feeling that toe-in offers.

You can also run 0 (zero) toe in/out.

The amount of camber/caster you can actually get out of a stock suspension varies quite a bit. You may only get ~0.5° of camber, and you may not get that much caster ... or you could get more ... or you may not be able to get the same on both sides. Wonderful "tolerances" from the factory .

Don't have the rear springs in yet and as it looks I will be pulling the fronts out to put shocks all four corners so glad I just waited to align. Should be like a new car with all in and adjusted.

Thanks for the business. Let us know how you like the setup.

I'm learning here. If I can get the shocks figured out I will post up how things improve or not when it is all done.
