Default Who can help me fix my car! Want start

Ive been messing with this thing forever and cant figure it out. My car will not start and idle i can make it run if i pump the gas pedel but sounds like its not running right when i do its real choppy and my car has a stock cam. i changed the relay under the hood and the whole assembley in the tank.

this all happened right after a second gear wot pull and the car just died on decel for a while i could crank the car over but now the battery is getting dead

Now what is there anything else i can do?

Clean the MAF with some electric cleaner, new plugs if it hasn't been done, and double check the eng sen fuse.

Almost sounds like your crank sensor is bad...

Is the car a manual or auto?

Has it had any other running issues lately?

Have you done any modifications or maintenance lately?

Is it the 98 in your sig? If so check and make sure you didn't stretch the wiring harness on the motor...sounds far fetched but look and make sure all the wires are still in tack and not stretched...

I don't think it's the fuel pump tho. If it was the fuel pump it wouldn't just quit without notice. I'd probably do some weird off and on ****.

I think unplugging the MAF is a good test tho. If it doesn't work and you have fuel pressure (start the car for a minute, turn it off and press the shrader valve on the fuel rail), then it's some sort of sensor.

Bottom of the line tho, there's something you're not telling us because a car hardly EVER just quits running without any kind of notice...

Charlie: What are you talking about stretching the wiring harness? What wire would be stretched? That would also link back to his engine mounts if a wire was stretched...

If it is not starting and it came to a dead stop, then replace the fuel filter and fuel pump. Just my 2 cents.

OK i changed the pump, fuel pump relay checked lots of sensors, unplugged the maf and still nothing... i have good fuel pressure i think and it was pretty high like 60 psi with the key on. and when started it was still high. i can start the car if i pump the pedal.

there was no notice it just died right after merging off the highway. i was wot and it was running hard right before. i think its some kind of sensor or the fuel filter but its not even a year old.

Joe...its hard for me to explain by typing...but being the first run year for these cars some 98s have had the problem of stretching the harness when the engine is torqued...along with computer problems...not very common but its happened...and sometimes its not problems but flaws that could use improvements

First year run cars always have the most faults and bugs that get worked out thru later years
