I want a G8, but a stick. Most are going in that price range with a stick.

Since paying extra for the GXP option and only getting an auto sounds fun too.

The record for a M6 GXP is a 12.3 and it is a 550+ hp car. Those cars DO NOT leave well. If you want a roll racer, build a m6 if not, get an auto.

The track records for the G8 were set by auto cars, and personally I don't see shifting gears in a 4 door sedan. 1 of only 1828 ever made - good thing there are so many car experts on here

The reason all the records for G8s are held by automatic cars is because there aren't nearly as many GXPs out there to begin with, even less with the M6 and those aren't really highly modified.

For those who don't know, the G8 GT only came in A6. The GXP had a M6 option.

If the fastest M6 GXP is 12.3...I plan to destroy that very soon.

That price is roughly what they go for around here. Give or take a couple grand.

Supply vs Demand determines the price. Just because you may think the price is high, that doesn't mean someone with the cash looking for that specific car does. It isn't like there are a flood of used GXP G8's on the market. I rarely see any for sale, period.

I'm back in the market again but looking for a M6. The prices are the same across the board depends on how bad someone wants one.

Also, the automatic 09+ CTS-V are quicker than the manual too. I love the auto trans in my V, and it hurts me (diehard M6 lover) to admit that. I wouldn't want to shift gears in a heavy sedan.

i'd love to have this as a DD. i'd just have to wait for the price on these to drop some. and i'd actually want the A6 since i'd be using it as a DD. the only reason i didnt get a LS1/2 CTS-V is the fact that its only available with the manual trans. manual trans is just really undesirable sitting in bumper to bumper traffic at 7:30 in the morning every day.

i understand the whole supply/demand thing, but i just cant pay almost as much for a used car is it would have cost brand new. unfortunately, i believe the only 'equivalent' RWD v8 car with 4 doors out there is the dodge charger... and i really dont want to be forced to buy a dodge just yet

Another reason would be the weak rear.

I agree about traffic, but its funny to read how people wouldn't want to shift gears in a heavy sedan, but they'll shift in a heavy coupe (new Camaro and Termi Cobra). Its ony a 500lb difference. 2 big guys in a Camaro will make up the weight quickly.
