Is my fuel pump bad?
The car died twice. Each time, I started it up a few minutes after it died and drove a little bit more. Fortunately, I was able to make it pull into a gas station by my house and then make it home.

do a fuel pressure test first. Attach a fuel pressure guage to the schrader valve and test it for 41-47 PSI. IF it is below that then you need a new fuel pump. You can cut a rectangle out the back of your car to do the fuel pump swap...
Search for "trap door" method and you should find a guide or two. Thats how i did mine. JUST MAKE SURE ITS THE FUEL PUMP BEFORE BUYING ONE.

Well, I haven't started the car in almost a week, but it started up tonight and ran for a little bit until I turned it off. The pressure was 42 pounds with the key on, and then it dropped to 35 pounds like it should.

One way to tell if the pump is on its wa out is to see if the lines are losing pressure before you start the car. You see, the fuel pump has a valve that holds the pressure in the lines so that the car has adequate pressure while you start the car. IOW, if the car is "hard starting" (taking a little time to fire up) it is likely the pump is on its way out.
Good luck. Don't pay for someone to do it. Call Racetronix and get a pump to drop in. It will take a novice a weekend to complete the install.
