Default hdmi cables

Am I going to notice a difference between this cable:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ULTRA-QUALITY-HD...QQcmdZViewItem

...and this cable:

http://cgi.ebay.com/FOR-HDTV-DVD-PS3...QQcmdZViewItem

...besides the price? (for use with my PS3 or Xbox 360)

I have one expensive one and a cheapie. I don't notice a difference on my HDTV. Build quality is a bit cheapier but not too bad for just a couple of bucks. Get it!

IMO the only thing that HD is good for is sports and racing. I don't see that big of a difference in Movies

I can tell a huge difference in my 1080p over the 1080i's and 720's on just about everything. I got my cables from Walmart and they are just fine I think.

www.monoprice.com is the best place for HDMI cables. Do not spend more than $20 a cable on HDMI cables... it's an all digital signal so it doesn't matter how the 0's and 1's get there, as long as they get there.

i guess it really depends on how much you care. like som people are saying they didnt notice a difference but if you go to best buy and look at there blue ray display they are using some of their higher end cables. they do get expensive but if you are big into movies than every penny is worth it.

You're absolutely incorrect. They use high end cables to convince saps like you that it makes a difference and you should spend 100 bucks on a 12 dollar cable.

Other cables (component, speaker, composite, etc) matter which brand you use... digital cables (hdmi, usb, etc) make little difference.

very true. i used to work at bb...and the cost on a $70 component cable was like $14. they are way way marked up.

According to my cable company an HDMI cable is an HDMI cable is an HDMI cable. The only difference is the more expensive ones use extra insulation. As long as the cords are sitting there they should last forever. Spent $60 on a 6' cable from Best Buy then day after went to my local cable provider and they gave me 2 cables for free...

Exactly.

if you buy cables from anyplace other than monoprice.com, you are flushing money down the toilet for absolutely no reason. Might as well get a big L tatooed on your forehead.

I tried a few hdmi cables when playing guitar hero and the best one i found was the monster hdmi cables. the other ones had a lot of lag in them i would have to hit buttons almost a full second early. and halo was even worse i went from about 15 kills a game to 2 cause the cable couldnt transfer data to the tv quick enough.

BS, you can not tell a huge difference between 1080i & 1080p. Do you even know what the difference is? 720 to 1080 is noticeable, but not huge.

I just typed up a long *** writeup on how a monster cable is superior to a cheap 20 cable but I accidentally hit back on my browser and dont feel like typing it up again. I work at BB, I am a HT installer. I hang your TV, setup your blue ray player, tie it into a 7.1 and get you to work it all with one remote. If you have Home automation I do that too. I have close to 4 years experience in this field, so its up to you if you take my advice or not. Steer clear of cheap cables, the build quality is substandard as is the actual components used in the cables, i.e the wires inside the HDMI, the tips, the molding. This may not mean much to you, but you'll be sitting with your thumb up your *** when the HDMI tip breaks off in your TV. And dont tell me that doesnt happen, more often then you think.

Calongo SS, stop wasting space on LS1tech. if you cant tell a difference, your due for an eye exam.

8 OUT OF 10 times its the source, not the cables. I'm open to questions

That is the dumbest statement I think I have ever heard regarding HD TV. Depending on what you are watching there is a huge difference in an interlaced VS progressive scan. There is also a huge difference in 720 VS 1080. If you can't tell the difference you are watching a display that is probably too small to be 1080 in the first place.

Either that or you have been watching some really crappy displays with really crappy signals.
