Anyone familiar with this shop and Steve Hiltner? I'm looking at buying a motor from him.

I got ripped off by steve. I ordered a set of motor mounts from him for my colorado swap. They not only did not fit, the fab work was horrible. He told me to cut and reweld them!
I sent steve a harness and computer for the colorado swap as well. They were sent out on 5/19/06. I received a wiring harness on 8/21/06 that Was not modified and it had broken connectors.
I called steve and he said that he could not get the tps to work and that he was upset with me because the conversion was for a customer, not for myself. I asked him wtf that had to do with anything!
The bottom line is that this guy is a liar and a thief. We need to have a sticky so he does not get any more victims from this site.
I have also contacted the arizona attorney generals office.
Hopefully they will make him accountable for all of this.

I know that this shop was denied sponsorship for AZFBA. That's all I know.

622 miles from Fresno to Chandler, you may have to take a road trip (and bring a couple of buddies with you) ......

I would honestly go and pound the **** out of a guy who stole 7k from me. No offense, but if I was buying something for 7k$, and it wasnt through ebay or a legal buying suite (something, I dont know what to call it right now); I would have to know the shop who I was buying from. I would need to know the owner personally, or at least see work that they've done. And if the motor was going to cost 7k from a shop that I have heard bad news about, I would spend 14k (double) to have it done right without any hitches, if it came down to it. I know your situation. I tried to buy a car from a guy in NJ a few months ago, and he kept dicking me around and sending me pics of a car that wasnt even his to sell. Good luck guys, not to trouble your spirits, but I dont know how much you can do. Who knows if this guy is a fly by night kinda deal, or what. He could just take your money and run.

Hopefully you dont get turned off by cars completely, and learn to trust sponsors on this site and others. They can be a true pleasure to deal with. You just need a good experience to get your morale up a bit.

I am 100% empathetic, don't think I am not. Good luck

I'm in total agreement with you, however, this guy is in fact offering his stuff on e-bay unfortunately which gives him "some" sense of legitimacy to the unsuspecting. Kudos on your last statement ..... And I too would pound the **** out of him over $7k :

I had a run in in with him as well. I wish I would have found this site before I bought anything from him. His website is www.ls1performanceparts.com and his username is no3montess Pass the word. I filed complaint with Arizona BBB. Took 5 minutes
